Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, but please remember that Wikipedia isn't a place for walkthroughs, cheats, lists of game content or detailed instructions on how to play a game. For more information please read the video game guideline. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 01:25, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I spent hours writing that. Seriously? Litessbu (talk) 01:34, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry that your effort seems wasted - but Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, some stuff is just off topic here. There's a beat saber specific wiki at https://beatsaber.fandom.com/, perhaps your content would be welcome there. MrOllie (talk) 01:37, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I’m trying to be polite here, but in case you haven’t noticed, this is a C-Tier article, and as someone who is very passionate about this game, I’m trying to fix that, because Beat Saber is not a C-Teir game, nor does it have a C-Teir community. Litessbu (talk) 01:40, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Adding content that is in disagreement with Wikipedia's policies will not raise the article's rank and is not fixing it. MrOllie (talk) 01:43, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then how would you like to fix it? Litessbu (talk) 01:44, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If someone wants to get this up to a higher rank, the first thing they'd have to do is remove all the stuff that doesn't belong. That's what I (and others) have been doing. MrOllie (talk) 01:46, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
By your standards then nothing would be left except the opening paragraph. And even some stuff in that like “surrealistic environments” would probably get removed. What’s your ideal length for this article? Litessbu (talk) 01:47, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
By your standards then nothing would be left except the opening paragraph. False. Straw man arguments are unhelpful. Beat saber is a very notable game and there are top-end sources available, like articles in peer reviewed scientific journals (for example this). A high-ranking article would be re-written based on the best available sources. MrOllie (talk) 01:50, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So a list of modifiers isn’t necessary, but a section talking about the effects 40 minutes after leaving the game is? What I’m trying to say is that there isn’t much information about the game itself. I search Beat Saber in the search bar, and the only things I’ve found in terms of the game itself are this article, and the fandom page, which aren’t much in the way of information, since you can’t exactly credit Fandom. Litessbu (talk) 02:01, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What I'm trying to say is that WP:NOR and WP:NOT are core policies on Wikipedia and article content must follow them. You're trying to get Wikipedia to host something it is simply not for - even if you convinced me right here and now to ignore policy on this, one of the many, many other editors of this site will come along and remove the stuff. MrOllie (talk) 02:05, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well I certainly don’t see you guys adding anything. Like 1/4 the information that’s still on this skeleton of an article was from one day several months ago where I tried adding a bunch of stuff, much like the stuff you just removed. Like 3/4 of that edit got removed, and yet it still a sizable chunk of the article. Things that it added include the information about arcs and chains, the information about the energy bar iirc, and the list of built-in packs. And next to nothing has been added since then, only the watered down summary on modifiers that was put in place of the table I tried to add (because yes, the table of modifiers and the energy system was a repeat of an attempt to get that information on the article, but I got shut down repeatedly by another guy. If you actually feel like putting in work to help this article, then start adding stuff, because I feel like I’m the only person in the world who genuinely cares about the amount of information on this article. Litessbu (talk) 02:15, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I also think I’m the one responsible for the information on the points system, actually. Litessbu (talk) 02:18, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
