My concern about your username[edit]

Hello, Littlebum2002, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Let me reassure you that my writing here means I don't think your username is grossly, blatantly, or obviously inappropriate; such names get reported straight to Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention or blocked on sight. This is more a case where opinions might differ, and it would be good to reach some consensus — either here or at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names. So I look forward to a friendly discussion, and to enjoying your continued participation on Wikipedia. Thank you. The Sunshine Man 17:34, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only reason I use this username is because I use it everywhere else, and I got it from the fact that my last name is Bumgarner, so my father is "bigbum" and I am "littlebum". I would not mind changing it, however, but what exactly do you find wrong with it? littlebum2002 17:45, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Because it could be seen as offensive or inflammatory, have a quick look at the username policy and see what you think afterwards. The Sunshine Man 17:52, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is it because of the word "bum"? I am sorry, I'm from America, so I thought nothing of it. However, I can see how it would be offensive to someone across the pond. I'm not too fond of it anyway, I'll change it.

Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ul red.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Ul logo red.jpg. The copy called Image:Ul logo red.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 18:02, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Motto of the day[edit]

Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.

When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.

If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 01:58, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved
 – Nominator withdrew nomination

User:Littlebum2002/Pro-Life, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Littlebum2002/Pro-Life and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Littlebum2002/Pro-Life during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Josh Atkins (talk - contribs) 15:30, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mfd withdrawn. I messed up; I'm really sorry. --Josh Atkins (talk - contribs) 18:07, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 12:08, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
