I would say that it is becoming less common for lecturer's/teachers/schools to ban the use of wikipedia, because its starting to spread even further, and schools are beginning to realise its worth, and even use it themselves, i have one lecturer who used wikipedia as a resource for their lecture notes, in their own area of expertise, and another that told us to get info of wikipedia to insert into a website. Instead, it seems know wikipedia use is being encouraged, but at the same time, we are encouraged to check the sources the article uses, which is one of the strengths of wikipedia, it is good as a staring point, and most articles provide the next point of reference with sources--Jac16888 (talk) 13:25, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
