Welcome![edit]

Hello, Littlewolves, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Predation[edit]

Hi. Thanks for your additions to the [predation]] article. There are some issues though that you need to fix. The predation article is a Good Article, which means that it's one of Wikipedia's best. When you're contributing to articles like this, it's critically important that your edits meet the Good Article criteria, including those related to layout and writing style. Right now, your additions aren't there yet. For example

  • Bold text should only be used for the article title, not for emphasis within the article
  • Single-sentence paragraphs should be used infrequently
  • Bullet points should be used for list items, not for blocks of text
  • Your additions need to mesh with the article overall - right now, Lotka-Volterra dynamics are discussed elsewhere in the article, so you shouldn't be reintroducing them here.

Take a look at the rest of the article and see how it's written, and then fit your additions into what's already there. Make sure that it fits smoothly - it shouldn't be apparent where one person's work starts and another's ends.

Good Articles are difficult to work on, which is why we discouraged working on them in the training material. You need to rework in this in your sandbox - if you need additional help, please let me know. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:05, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
