If you're here to moan at me and be ableist from my contributions to articles about autism, you're going to want this section.
[edit]If you're here to continue to deny the bigotry and eugenicist sentiments in that article, then leave. Right now. Immediately. You are unwelcome here. I don't care what you want to put. Stop coming to my page all the time and harassing me. It is absolutely ridiculous. LocalPunk (talk)

[edit]Hello, I'm DarkMatterMan4500. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Jeremy Renner have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Thanks. - How were they not constructive? I was just adding that Renner has been accused of abuse, and is reported to have potentially had previous issues with substance abuse. I cited everything, this is not vandalism. LocalPunk (talk) 16:18, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

Soapboxing and advocacy editing at autism
[edit]LocalPunk, Wikipedia is the "encyclopedia that anyone can edit", but like most websites, that editing is subject to rules, which on Wikipedia are known as policies and guidelines. Users who persistently break those rules can be blocked from editing. I recommend that you familiarize yourself with those policies and guidelines so you may continue to enjoy editing privileges on Wikipedia.
Your user page indicates that you are the owner of this Twitter account, which indicates that you are advocacy editing, which is also apparent by your edits to Talk:Autism. Wikipedia's pages at WP:RS, WP:MEDRS, WP:WIAFA, WP:NOTAFORUM have been pointed out to you on talk. Talk pages are for discussing improvements to articles based on reliable sources; how to find such sources has been pointed out to you several times in the talk page discussion. You have yet to present a single source, and all of your talk page posts amount to soapboxing and using the talk page as a forum for airing your personal opinions. This is becoming tenditious and disruptive.
I understand that, as a new user, you may not have been aware of all of the policies and guidelines that govern Wikipedia, but I ask that you familiarize yourself with these pages and not continue posting soapboxing opinions at Talk:Autism. Anything you post at Talk:Autism should be based on high-quality sources compliant with WP:MEDRS. Please produce sources compliant with Wikipedia's policies if you continue posting about "ableism" on Wikipedia. I will ask admin RexxS to follow your edits there to help assure that you don't continue using article talk pages in ways that aren't allowed on Wikipedia. If you continue abusing of Wikipedia talk pages, you can be blocked from editing. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 00:42, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- Don't put ableism in quotes like that, it is a legitimate issue especially on that page. Yes, I am the owner of AutismOnWikipedia. I am discussing improvements, because of how disgracefully ableist and pathologising that article is. That's not a personal opinion, that's a blatant fact. LocalPunk (talk) 13:13, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- LocalPunk, this isn't a social media site and you can't just behave as you feel like here. We have a strong rule that the content of our articles is based on reliable sources, and we make no exception to that for anyone, including you. You have removed content and reliable sources from the article and have been unable to justify those actions beyond suggesting that the sources are biased, for which you rely on your personal opinion. You have repeatedly made claims that a living person is "ableist" and that the article as a whole is also ableist. That again represents purely your personal opinion and that has no weight whatsoever in discussion on Wikipedia. Simply repeating it without bringing any evidence – that is, reliable sources – eventually becomes disruptive, and you have exhausted the patience of the editors at the Autism article and talk page. I will therefore suspend your ability to disrupt that article for an indefinite time.
- I will be willing to reinstate your ability to edit the article and its talk page if you produce reliable sources on this page that support the claims you are making. You will still need to produce reliable sources for any changes you propose making to the article. The onus is on editors wishing to make changes to justify them, and vague suggestions about Google searches are not sufficient. Find the scientific reviews or respected textbooks to support your position and you can go back to editing the article. If you need guidance, it is available at WP:MEDRS. --RexxS (talk) 14:58, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not treating this as a social media site. Ableism isn't subjective. I don't need to cite for the article itself being ableist - the article is right there after all. That article is biased and ableist and is the opposite of neutral - but instead of trying to have these issues resolved you block me? That is incredibly ridiculous.
- The only thing that is ridiculous is you thinking you can turn up here and demand that your unsupported personal opinion must be treated by other editors as fact. You have been told multiple times that the other editors disagree with your assessment, and you seem incapable of understanding that yours is not the only valid opinion. Ableism is discrimination and prejudice against people who have disabilities. You have done nothing but make claims to that effect. Where are the reliable sources that support your assertion that Temple Grandin is ablist? Where are the sources that disprove that some people diagnosed as autistic in childhood are no longer diagnosed as autistic in adulthood? Please get the message that nobody else who is editing the page agrees with you. --RexxS (talk) 15:57, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- Once again: ableism isn't opinion-based. That article promoted eugenics. That article promoted ableism. Temple Grandin's ableism is well-documented. I know what ableism is, I experience it daily. You want proof the article is ableist? Go over to the article itself then. As I also stated previously, I myself am autistic and I have struggles with energy management. I stated several times I hadn't finished and I was hoping other editors would be able to help me revise the article so that it isn't ableist - however, it would appear that many editors are completely fine spreading dangerous ableist misinformation and bigotry.
- Read this carefully: your assessment of ableism is opinion based, and your opinion differs from every other editor. Have you ever considered the possibility that when everybody else disagrees with, you might in fact be wrong? What "dangerous ableist misinformation and bigotry" have you identified? Also, no other editor has agreed with your assessment that the article promotes eugenics, a system that aims to promote one group at the expense of another. How is the article doing that? Be specific. Just repeating your assertion does absolutely nothing to advance your view. I have no interest in involving myself with your content dispute, only with your behaviour. You are wasting your time trying convince me to involve myself, and if you can't take my advice to find reliable sources for the other editors to see, you'll find yourself howling into the wind here indefinitely. Your call. --RexxS (talk) 18:15, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- If you go to my very first original comment on that page, you will find that I specifically mention phrases such as "no known cure" and the like. And where did I ask you to involve yourself with anything? Again, ableism is not subjective. Do not patronise me. Stop being ableist.

I have made plenty of useful contributions to Wikipedia in the short time that I have been an editor. I raised perfectly valid concerns about the state of the articles in question on the discussion page about their ableism, and yet I am blocked for being disruptive on the page I was concerned about - despite making one total edit on it. Search engines
[edit]You asked whether we were using the same web search engine. I was using DuckDuckGo yesterday, which does not provide Personalized search or have a Filter bubble effect. If you were using Google Search (to name the most popular), then you are getting personalized results, which can be biased towards what the search engine sees as your beliefs. WhatamIdoing (talk) 19:25, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, except I tested it outside of my account. That doesn't suddenly mean those sources don't exist, however. LocalPunk (talk) 19:45, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- Google Search is famous for personalizing results even for people who don't have accounts. Their tracking is very strong (a privacy invasion, some would say). WhatamIdoing (talk) 19:53, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- I also tested it on Microsoft Edge, which I never use, which sent me to Bing, which again, I never use, and while the results differed slightly there was a great, great deal of similarity. Again, that doesn't mean those sources don't exist. LocalPunk (talk) 20:08, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- As I said, I found many unreliable sources that repeat your belief (e.g., https://www.autistichoya.com, https://intheloopaboutneurodiversity.wordpress.com, https://posthumanities.blogspot.com) but I did not find any WP:Reliable ones. I also notice that you haven't ever named any that you think would be reliable. Maybe if you think that there are reliable sources that should be considered, you would actually post them so that others can see whether they are actually reliable. WhatamIdoing (talk) 20:44, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- Because as I have explained before, my energy levels were incredibly low. I instead tried to provide a starting point for others to help them find resources because I - apparently wrongly - assumed that people who weren't ableist would help me with the article. It would turn out I was wrong and that many preferred instead to act as if the ableism and eugenicist beliefs were being made up by me - note how I am now banned from the articles in question for disruptive behaviour despite my only act being to point out the bigotry in the article, and how many have repeated ableist beliefs and been ableist towards me. LocalPunk (talk) 21:12, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- You want Wikipedia to be neutral? Then don't be bigoted, for a start. I will note that also due to my low energy levels I was unable to fix the article completely of ableism and I may have missed other bits of ableism and bigotry. The article's bigotry is not just my belief and neither is the fact that Grandin is bigoted - it is fact LocalPunk (talk) 21:16, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- LP, you have spent more time and energy arguing this than it would take you to cough up a reliable source if one exists. More concerning, though, is that Temple Grandin is a living person and per Wikipedia's WP:BLP policy, you can't continue calling her names if you don't have reliable sources to back them up (notice that I have not listed the names you have called her, so my edit won't need to be revdel'd per BLP). Please make yourself familiar with Wikipedia's policy protecting living persons from being defamed. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 21:25, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not calling her names. The way I work with my energy and time is not the way you have described as a result of my autisticness. LocalPunk (talk) 21:54, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- Statements like "Grandin is bigoted" are indeed Name calling. Notice that it's still name calling even if it's undisputed and absolutely true. WhatamIdoing (talk) 02:04, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
- You would be incorrect. Please refer to the first section of my page. LocalPunk (talk) 11:11, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

Discretionary sanctions at COVID
[edit]LP, I am making you aware that any admin may apply sanctions to editors in the COVID topics. You installed a controversial change at COVID-19 pandemic,[1] that was discussed on talk,"Xenomisia"? and removed,[2] and yet you re-installed the change without consensus.[3]
This is the same behavior for which you were blocked above; that is, you are not recognizing, still, that Wikipedia content is based on reliable sources and not personal opinions, and that almost every high-quality source uses the word xenophobia, not the almost unheard of xenomisia. You are introducing similar personal preferences at psychosis.[4] It does not appear that you are taking Wikipedia policies on board, and when this affects medical content, that is particularly concerning. @RexxS, Voice of Clam, and Jpgordon:. I am wondering whether you should be editing medical content at all, considering you have not yet acknowledged Wikipedia sourcing guidelines. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:50, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- I sourced. Please do not misconstrue my edits. LocalPunk (talk) 18:54, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Let me be clear. You may not restore in whole, or in part, any edit challenged by reversion on a page such as COVID-19 pandemic. If you subsequently find sources that support your edit, the proper course of action is to take those sources to the talk page and seek consensus for them there. Even if there may be cogent reasons for using a neologism or an uncommon term, Wikipedia editors will normally prefer the term used in the reliable sources that they are summarising and your crusade does not override a consensus established by others. --RexxS (talk) 19:28, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
Ableism
[edit]I don't believe you understand what ableism is. It is usually defined as "discrimination against people with disabilities", but you seem to think that the use of any term that does not employ a euphemism for a medical condition instead of a commonly-found term constitutes discrimination. For example, you edited Psychosis to change The diagnosis of a mental illness requires excluding other potential causes. to The diagnosis of a mental health condition requires excluding other potential causes. Is it your contention that the phrase "diagnosis of a medical illness" constitutes discrimination? If so, against whom? --RexxS (talk) 19:16, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- I experience ableism on a daily basis. I know what it is. LocalPunk (talk) 19:52, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- You don't know what it is. If psychosis is described as an illness, whom does that discriminate against? --RexxS (talk) 19:59, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
