Speedy deletion of Marble Bar Asset Management[edit]

A tag has been placed on Marble Bar Asset Management requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TrulyBlue (talk) 19:47, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Got your message[edit]

I recommend recreating the article in your userspace. What that means is that you type: "User:Lonbam/sandbox" and start your article there instead of in the mainspace. It will attract less attention than your previous attempt at an article and will likely not be deleted right away. Let me know if you need help along the way in how to properly cite sources, write encyclopedically, etc. Cheers! Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 20:37, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I looked at it, it's looking like a good start! I removed the redlinks to the two founders, as they are likely not notable outside of this company, therefore they will not get their own articles, therefore no need to create links. Quick question: What do you mean by "long/short equity". Short selling? I can help you find a suitable Wikipedia article to link to if I knew exactly what you were referring to (by the way, I have some knowledge/work experience in the field, so don't worry about asking too technical a question). I'll look around a bit for some more sources for you in a bit. Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 21:39, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just saw your fix. :-) I've added a couple of others. Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 21:43, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good start[edit]

Okay, lonbam, looks like a good start. What sorts of things do you want to add to it? I strongly recommend finding something that shows how this particular hedge fund (of which there are thousands) somehow notable. So far, they exist, and we're bought by a big bank. They're regulated. (yawn). What makes it notable? Controversies? New strategies? Uniqueness in the market? Give me something, anything, to help you out - I can tell you're serious about getting this into Wikipedia, but right now, it would never survive an AFD (that's the venue we use to decide if something stays or goes as a community). Help me help you! Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 21:46, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Leonsis edits[edit]

Hi there, I'm hoping we can iron out the issues of the Controversies section on the Ted Leonsis article. I started a discussion on the Talk page about the back and forth the editors seem to be having regarding the 2004 Hammer incident, and about the section in general, so I'd love to get your views there so we can get some resolution.
