When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to Stranger on My Land, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:

  • If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
  • If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;

If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. Cindy(talk) 19:10, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Stranger on My Land. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. It is important that you comply with Wikipedia policy and guidelines. Specifically, there is a warning given above that instructs you NOT to link to content which violates the creator's copyright. I have removed this content twice, yet you have restored it. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited HITRECORD ON TV, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page First (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Notability guideline for films

[edit]

I wanted to respond to your question raised in the edit summary at Stranger on My Land. First, please note that the edit summary is provided to offer a quick summary of the edits you've made to the article, rather than for general comments or questions about the article. When you have questions of this nature, you can either contact the editor who identified the issue or offer some questions and comments on the discussion page. At this point, the Stranger on My Land article fails to establish notability of the subject in accordance with the general or topical notability guidelines for films. I would recommend reviewing the notability guidelines. If you have further questions, please feel free to drop me a line anytime. Best regards, Cindy(talk) 21:16, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Heritage user boxes

[edit]

I am still them but I am not using certain heritage user boxes on my user page because they are for you first. That must be why some people like Kreuk in real life don't want to claim those heritages or be them if they are for you or something and that is me as Kreuk/Cosgrove/Ally Dawson, that is an Allison? The article Hathaway Brown (Copperpot) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability, other than recording the theme song for this TV show (which is not a very strong claim). I am unable to find significant discussion of this band in reliable sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 14:06, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Rickey Yaneza

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rickey Yaneza requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. 88.104.19.233 (talk) 20:18, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

Dear Laura, while editors are given a certain amount of leeway in their user space, it is best not to use one's own talk page as a kind of message board for communications simply left to be possibly picked up by other editors, like a message in a bottle. I noticed that you trimmed your user page considerably a few days ago and that was a good idea. Having said that, I want to thank you for your edits in mainspace: our beautiful project needs all the help it can get. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 03:40, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Article edits very difficult to understand

[edit]

Hi Laura, I've reverted your edits at I_Am_Rich, which appeared pretty nonsensical to me. It's very important that any article work you do is clear and understandable to others, that it's well sourced, and that it's directly about the topic of the article. I hope you find Wikipedia a good place to contribute, but please do make an effort to stick to strictly encyclopedic work, in whatever capacity you are able. Recent edits, some tips

[edit]

Hi Laura, thank you for your contributions. You're doing a lot of good work, but also still making some seemingly nonsensical or careless changes. I wanted to give you a few tips in the hopes that they keep your edits constructive and you have a long, successful 'career' with us.

  • Avoid steam-of-consciousness associations like this: [1] and [2].
    Instead, write only about the topic of the article, using reliable sources as evidence
  • Do not editorialize or ramble in captions like this: [3]
    Instead, describe what is in the picture neutrally and without opinion or tangential remarks
  • Do not use unclear or irrelevant edit summaries like this: [4]
    Instead, write only about the specific changes you made in that edit so other editors can follow your work

I hope this is helpful to you and you keep doing useful and helpful work!

Cheers, Jake Ocaasi t | c 11:58, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, Laura. I noticed this edit about Juliana Margulies was unsourced and appeared to be made-up. It is absolutely critical that contributions you make to mainspace articles follow our guidelines closely and are accurate, on-topic, and properly cited. I believe you have a lot you can contribute to this community but in order for you to stay with us you simply must be more careful in your article work. Please consider this a friendly reminder but take it seriously if you want to keep working with our community. I hope you can! Ocaasi t | c 16:36, 18 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Laura. I noticed this edit [5] added a real person as the son of a fictional character. I do not know if this was a mistake or just careless or something else--and if I somehow mistunderstood please explain it to me. But otherwise at this point I have to give you a serious warning that the next article edit you make which doesn't make any sense will result in a block. I'm sorry it's come to this but it seems there are certain challenges here that are just not easy to resolve. Blocks aren't permanent and you can keep learning with us, but we can't have an active editor inserting mistakes or falsehoods into multiple articles. Best, Jake Ocaasi t | c 09:22, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Laura, it seems to me that you have been warned enough about adding inappropriate content to Wikipedia pages, including your user page and this user talk page. Your talk page is for other people to communicate with you, not for you to talk to yourself, and I can't even begin to tell you how inappropriate it is to make lists of real people by name and give their personal details the way you did here, for no ostensible reason. (I've removed it.) Please keep your personal notes on your personal computer, not on Wikipedia. Don't do something like that again or you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia without further warning. Also please don't place any more Wikilove notices on the pages of strangers. I'm sure you mean well by them, but when the person has no way of understanding what you're referring to, it's more worrying than cheering for them. Compare Nahnah4's post just above. Hi Laura,

I regretfully blocked your account today for 1 week. Despite repeated attempts to focus your work on improving Wikipedia, you continue to spend most of your time corresponding with yourself, making lists of people, and spreading nonsensical messages to others. I would love for you to find a home on Wikipedia, but it simply must be as a productive contributor. I did not block your talk page, so that you can respond to this block and help us understand better. However, if you just continue to use your talk page as a personal diary, then I will have to revoke your talk page access as well. I hope you understand that we have done everything reasonable that we can to keep your presence welcome; we have to draw a line somewhere.

To contest your block, please place this on your talk page and fill out your reason in the space provided.

Notice

The article Alone in the Neon Jungle has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't appear to meet WP:NFILM. No in-depth reviews found on search (regular Google search + Newspapers.com). As a made-for-TV-movie, it was never widely released, and it doesn't meet any other NFILM qualifications.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC(talk) 16:51, 10 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
