Welcome

[edit]

Hello Loompyloompy313, and welcome. I see that you have edited articles on Illinois and the Chicago area and thought you might be interested in joining WikiProject Chicago or WikiProject Illinois.

While I am at it, here are a few more good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically inserts your name and the current date when you save the edit. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. -- DS1953 talk 06:10, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

VERITAS

[edit]

Hi - I've switched VERITAS to be a public company, just like IBM, Sun Microsystems, Google, and any other company listed on the NASDAQ. I think you may have misunderstood the private/public company terminology. --Oscarthecat 19:58, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New WikiProject Illinois Collaboration Division

[edit]

Hey, saw you were a participant in the Illinois WikiProject. I thought I would let you know that there is a new Collaboration Division up for the project. The goal of the division is to select an article or articles for improvement to Good article standard or higher. There is a simple nomination process, which you can check out on the division subpage, to make sure each candidate for collaboration has enough interested editors. This is a good way to get a lot of articles to a quality status quickly. Please consider participating. More details can be seen at the division subpage. IvoShandor 11:27, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

HEY

[edit]

Hey. You'll never guess who I am.

Am I allowed to make random comments like this? I think so.

Uh... I don't know how to leave my log-in name.

ShippoIsHip 18:30, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a messaging thing or is this it?

[edit]

Anyway, I just added to the Niles North article. It's something about the super-cool award we just won, and the reason why we have yet another assembly.

Woot.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:InfectedPSP.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:InfectedPSP.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:30, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article MP3Rocket, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dice.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --00:29, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
