Disability pride articles[edit]

Hi, I'm really glad to see your work on improving these articles. I think quite a bit more trimming, splitting and merging could be done. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 06:32, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Dodger67 Thank you! I felt bad for the total onslaught of edits I made. But I hope I made the articles better and made the proper merges. There's much work to be done when it comes to information and articles related to Disability. LopezJayLo98 (talk) 06:41, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes "total onslaught" is absolutely the way to go! I've even done a few WP:TNT rewrites.
I think we should have an article on "Disability Pride" as the global topic, then we can cover the various events, parades, days, weeks, months, etc either as sections in the article or seperate articles as needed. Having a hodge-podge of of short and long articles that overlap and repeat alot of information is just messy and imho unencyclopedic, the topic should be covered more systematically. But ok that's just my opinion. I'll post a note on the project talk page pointing to this conversation if anyone else wpuld like to join the effort, or even just give their opinion. @Dodger67 I agree, that would be the best way to consolidate info! I think Disability Pride is the focal point, and the rest are centered on that. I'm also okay with maybe having Disability Pride as one article and Disability Pride Month as the other as I think both are equally notable.
The only thing that would bother me is the fact that right now when you Google "Disability Pride Month" the Wikipedia page comes up and it may not come up anymore if we change it to "Disability Pride." I think the Wikipedia page is the only really comprehensive article about Disability Pride right now. LopezJayLo98 (talk) 07:26, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not worried about Google, they usually catch up and adjust quite quickly. We can leave redirects if we move pages to different titles, it's not a problem. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 10:35, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! I just went in to try to add more global perspective to the Disability Pride Month article, specifically New Zealand, but it doesn't quite make sense as the choice of July is so tightly linked to US American history. Disability Pride is not celebrated in July in New Zealand. I think the idea of adjusting the article so it is on Disability Pride as a whole is preferable so historical context for Brighton, UK; Germany; New Zealand, etc. make more sense and there can be a better global perspective. I agree that Google will likely update. I assume it is so high in current SEO due to various social media threads, specifically one reposted to Judy Heumann's Instagram Stories, very recently speaking to the need to add more information to the Disability Pride Month Wikipedia page. @Schew412 Thank you for providing that more globalized context, especially New Zealand! It's difficult to find resources that are not American. I agree that changing the guys focus of the article to Disability Pride may provide more context and would definitely support this. LopezJayLo98 (talk) 08:12, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

distance learning[edit]

The article is in British English, not American. See WP:ENVAR for how we handle this. Secretlondon (talk) 05:12, 22 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
