Hello and thank you so much for the email. I am so sorry for the challenges. First, this is really my fault for the issues related to the moving of the new pages/rather than merging with already existing pages/stubs. I am a first time teacher with the Wikipedia program, and I have a very large, 120 student class. Most of them are first and second year students and they have limited experience in this kind of space. They are very enthusiastic, but not very seasoned.

I used the "move to mainspace" guidelines, not thinking about the stub issue.

Also, regarding the quality of some of the articles; I know that some of them are problematic, and have already notified some of those students that their page will not be able to go live.

Thank you again for the feedback, and I am sorry for all the challenges. I will not be doing this assignment again in this class, as while I loved it, I think it was too difficult to manage with so many students.

A question about your course

Hello, I recently came across some of the articles your students have written for your course. While we obviously encourage editing and improving Wikipedia, I have come across an issue which I feel obligated to mention. I have noticed a distinct lack of preparation on the part of the students when it comes to determining if they're writing a new article or supplementing an existing one. Three sandboxes (1, 2, and 3) have been moved to the Article space despite Ali Salem, Troy Duster, and John Mosley already existing. I moved the pages back to the userspace but the editors working on the Duster article seem to be refusing to accept my actions (despite multiple notices on their talk pages).

I have also come across a few pages that are simply not ready for the article space. I moved one of the more incomplete drafts back to the userspace, and left a note with the other two regarding their submissions.

I do not want to seem like I am picking on your students or their work, but when I have had to seriously modify over half of the pages I have come across something needs to be done. I am also pinging Ian (Wiki Ed), since he is listed on your course page. I will be watching this talk page, so feel free to respond here (no need to split the conversation onto my Talk).
