evolution class assignment[edit]

One of the statements on the Evolution page that is NPOV is found at the end of the introductory paragraph. It states,

Evolution is currently applied and studied in various areas within biology such as conservation biology, developmental biology, ecology, physiology, paleontology and medicine. Moreover, it has also made an impact on other disciplines such as agriculture, anthropology, philosophy and psychology. Evolutionary biologists document the fact that evolution occurs, and also develop and test theories that explain its causes.

This statement is NPOV for several reasons. This statement has avoided any opinions in a factual sense. This statement in particular has not made any seriously contested facts either, so there is no controversy about point of view there. There is also non-judgmental language which presents this information as NPOV. While this statement may lead to some controversial ideas and debates, it simply presents the factual information without showing any opinion or bias towards any particular point of view. citizendium class assignment[edit]

Citizendium is a fork of Wikipedia; that is, it follows the general outline of the Wikipedia universe, but then develops independently. The difference with Citizendium is that it utilizes original articles, and emphasizes the use of reliable, scholarly articles. It also requires users to use their real names, and has stricter rules surrounding discussions on the site. With all of these factors, it provides a more professional, academic environment for an encyclopedia on the internet.Lostjack815 (talk) 21:39, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
