Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Loujienkh, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Brianda and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Gaza Strip article selection

[edit]

Hi there @Loujienkh, I noticed you selected the Gaza Strip article to work. So you know, Gaza Strip has Extended confirmed protection. This means that in order for an editor to edit the article they must have at least 500 edits and their account must be at least 30 days old. To give you an idea, the majority of our students stay under 50 edits for the duration of this project. The community does this with highly contentious topics, especially with the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, since these kinds of articles are challenging for even experienced editors. With that said, I recommend you choose a different topic to work on, steering clear of topics related to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, since most of them will have similar protections in place. Please let me know if you have any questions about this. Looping in @Meerkat77. Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 01:06, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
