Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because (your reason here) --Lrakover (talk) 13:48, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Wikipedia friends,
I believe the page in question should not be deleted, and I would like to present the following reasons:
1. Personal knowledge of the artist and his work:
I have been following the artist's career for over 30 years, familiarizing myself with his work through frequent visits to museums in Panama, especially the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC). My familiarity with the artist and his contributions to contemporary art allows me to assert that his inclusion in Wikipedia is relevant and significant.
2. Reliable and recent sources:
I am attaching links to articles recently published in major newspapers in Panama that highlight the artist's work and significance. These reliable sources support the relevance of the subject and his impact on the contemporary art scene.
3. Additional material available:
Furthermore, I have access to copies of newspapers from the years 1969, 1970, and 1971 containing relevant information about the artist and his work. Additionally, I possess several books on Panamanian art where the artist is prominently featured. I am willing to provide excerpts from these books as supplementary evidence of the artist's enduring influence and recognition in the field of art.
Addressing Common Concerns:
1. Writing about yourself or someone/something you're close to:
I have no personal or professional relationship with the person I am writing about, other than being an admirer of his work. My only connection is having enjoyed his exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) in Panama and other museums. I am writing about Nessim Bassan, a renowned Panamanian artist with over 50 years of proven career. My interest is purely academic and cultural.
2. Copy-pasting material:
The article is written entirely in my own words. I have avoided copying and pasting material and have reformulated the information in an original and unique way, based on reliable and independent sources.
3. Not citing your sources:
I have included multiple reliable and independent sources that verify the information presented about Nessim Bassan. These sources include articles from major newspapers in Panama and Central America, as well as references from several important museums where he has exhibited his work, such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Panama, the Museum of Modern Art Carlos Mérida in Guatemala, the Marte Museum in El Salvador, and the Museum for National Identity in Honduras.
4. Overly promotional language:
I have made every effort to maintain a neutral and objective tone throughout the article, avoiding promotional terms. If any section is found to appear non-neutral, I kindly request that it be reviewed and edited to ensure compliance with Wikipedia's guidelines.
I am committed to promoting culture and art on Wikipedia. I believe that articles like this are valuable because they highlight the career of significant artists and help spark interest in art, especially among young people. If there are any aspects of the article that need adjustment or revision to comply with Wikipedia's policies, I am more than willing to make the necessary modifications.
Furthermore, I offer to write articles about other renowned artists at no charge, with the aim of contributing to the cultural and academic enrichment of the platform. Please feel free to provide me with the names of Panamanian and/or Latin American artists who should be featured on Wikipedia. I will gladly take on this task, adhering to Wikipedia's guidelines, to do my part in promoting the art and culture of my region.
I appreciate the review of my request and welcome any feedback or suggestions to improve the article. I am available to collaborate on its development and enrichment.
Best regards,
Leonardo Rakover
