Maintenance templates[edit]

Hello, I wanted to let you know that I have reverted your removal of the WP:COI and WP:PEACOCK maintenance templates on the article Nicole Junkermann. You said in your edit summary that you removed them because the promotional tone of the content had been made more factual, but you had not changed any of the content, just added some references and added some more content (unsourced). Please make sure that you do not remove templates without understanding and addressing the issues they refer to, thanks. Melcous (talk) 23:22, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much Melcous.

I have a couple of suggested edits that I wanted to run past you.

2nd paragraph Junkermann began her business career as a co-founder of football gaming...

3rd paragraph I'd like the following sentence to be removed please "Since 2011, Junkermann has returned to digital innovation, focusing on opportunities in areas like robotics, genomics, virtual reality, artificial intelligence and premium content."

In terms of her marriage to Ferdinando Brachetti Peretti, there are no articles about it to create a citation. How can it be referenced? I have the marriage certificate, but I wouldn't want to publish it. Any thoughts?

Many thanks for your support and understanding.

Luciano Caruso

Hi Luciano, I have made the first two changes you have requested. With the marriage, if there is no published source then it should not be included - which is fine, not everything about a person needs to be on wikipedia, just what is notable and verifiable, so I have removed that for now unless a source can be found. Cheers, Melcous (talk) 12:55, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Melcous

Thanks for your message. I understand your point regarding her marriage, we will wait until there is a publicly available source to reference it.

Regarding the second bullet on the header of the page, setting out issues with the article, please could you advise on what else needs to be done to ensure that the article is no longer written in a subjective manner, i.e. "promotes the subject in a subjective manner without imparting real information".

I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks

Hello again Melcous

Given that there are still outstanding editorial questions about Nicole's profile is it possible to revert to her original profile where there were none? This might be easier than maintaining the current profile which has numerous Maintenance templates issues and does not reflect well on Nicole.

Many thanks

Hi Luciano, sorry I've been away and still only have limited internet access. Maintenance templates on a wikipedia article do not reflect on the person the article is about, whether well or poorly. They reflect that the article itself still has some work to be done on it, that's all. Cheers, Melcous (talk) 03:42, 8 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Luciano, I'm sorry but I have reverted the edit you made to a much earlier version of the article as it does not resolve the issues and takes the page back to a version with various manual of style issues as well as some of the same issues flagged currently, despite them not being flagged at the time. The goal is to work on improving the article by addressing these issues, not to ignore them. I'm happy to have another look at some of the flagged issues over the next few days but again if you have specific suggestions, please make them and we can work on them. As I've said before, because you work for the subject of the article, you should not be editing it directly. Thank you, Melcous (talk) 22:28, 11 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

Hi Luciano, Thanks for your message on my talk page. As you work for the subject of the article, I would strongly urge you not to to directly edit the page. Instead, you should suggested your proposed changes on the article's talk page and then another editor can review them and add them if they are appropriate. I'm happy to do that if you let me know. Also note that editing the page of someone you are working for as part of your job is considered paid editing which must be disclosed as per the terms you agreed to when you created your account. I will add the standard conflict of interest notice below this message - please read through and click on the links to find it more. Thanks, Melcous (talk) 00:11, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
