September 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm LuK3. I noticed that you recently removed content from LGBT rights in Iraq without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. -- LuK3 (Talk) 14:16, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, my edit was absolutely not a mistake and I had included an edit summary explaining that the content was removed for security risks. Please, remove the content asap - the paragraph was removed following a request from the organization that was described (OWFI - I work with them). They are currently under great online scrutiny and security threats, they need this content to be removed. LucieCnl (talk) 14:23, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page LGBT rights in Iraq, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Bestagon ⬡ 14:27, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. The current paragraph is putting actual people at risk of being killed or arrested. I am not sure the priority here is to talk about conflict of interest. By restoring the paragraph, you are facilitating access to information about an organization whose staff members have been receiving an increasing number of death threats in the past few weeks. If you have knowledge of a true emergency to life or limb, you can contact the Wikimedia Foundation with the instructions found on WP:EMERGENCY. Otherwise, please establish consensus to remove those items. Bestagon ⬡ 14:36, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
