Warnings & span tags

Hi, Lugnuts. I commend your anti-vandalism efforts! That's great that you're helping out in that area. However, if someone right before you uses the Template:Uw-vandalism1 template, you should use the Template:Uw-vandalism2. And make sure if you use the <span> tag, you end your comment with the </span> tag, to make sure the entire page isn't formatted like your signature. Thanks again for fighting vandalism, and I hope these little tips help you do this better! Have a great day! =) hmwith talk 14:54, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Barnstars

You are low on using barnstars. However this could be some eye-candy for you. Have a fun day! 80.216.32.166 20:26, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

I can barely contain myself. No, really. Lugnuts 20:29, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

1920s films

Hello Lugs. See Brown of Harvard (1926 film) (I remember stubbing that film and the Internet at the time didn't have the film poster -shows how it is developing). At the bottom is a small template which is aimed to connect all of the many articles together and allow greater navigation between films. Is it possible you could begin to use this at the footer of film pages for the relevant decade to connect films together . Thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:05, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

E.g also see Frankenstein (1910 film) etc ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:09, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Aussie films

Disucssion about the multiple categories has been alerted at the Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board. It would be interesting to here your views regards ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:20, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hypnotoad.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Hypnotoad.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 17:45, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Leading Lizzie Astray, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0004212/combined. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 12:53, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Redirect of JVF

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on JVF, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because JVF is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting JVF, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Speedy A7

I removed the speedy tag from Killing Addiction. Use prod or AFD if you want to delete the article. The sentence "spawned dozens of influential bands in the death metal genre" is enough to indicate why the band is important or significant. Whether that in fact is true is totally irrelevant to the WP:CSD#A7 criteria. Garion96 (talk) 15:32, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

American films

Hi I know you have ignored the lists so far but could you add least add the title of films you start to the relevant year. You don't have to fill in details but at least add the title to American films of 1931 for example. This would be a great help thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:48, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

e.g The Back Page. Otherwise it seems silly for the articles to have the template at the bottom and connect to a year which has no record of that film existing. Thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:49, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Even if you just leave the titles loose at the bottom of the page and let me know - at least we would get the films on there formatted soon enough ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:51, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks yes you don't even need to add any details if you don't want to it is the titles I'm after. At least with the titles we can then fill in the info later. Keep up the good work. Best regards ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:17, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Russell Rouse

Hi friend how is it going. Wow you're whipping through these films and actors. I have a request. Could you start Russell Rouse. I have seen it red linked in may places and he very highly acclaimed I think. Thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:12, 25 October 2007 (UTC). He directed films such as The Oscar (film) which starred Bob Hope and Sinatra but he was primarily a screenwriter I think ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:15, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi mate thanks for doing that. With yours and my contributions we'll be out doing imdb in every way soon enough!! When you have a spare moment can you quickly read the Preity Zinta article and participate at Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/A-class review/Preity Zinta when you have a moment. Your words would be much appreciated particularly as you ar emuch involved with actors articles - I;m looking for an FA asap cheers ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:14, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Preity Zinta FA

Hi there. The Preity Zinta article has recently achieved A-class status. Due to the wealth of support I have decided to now nominate for an FA class article which I believe and judging by the comments of others is pretty much up to. In my view it is better than some existing FA actor articles. I would therefore be very grateful if you could give it a final review in your own time and leave your comments and views at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Preity Zinta. Thankyou, your comments are always valuable. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:57, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Cinema of Greece

♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:11, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes there is one for all countries - I created one for most of the film producers. Cinemaof.... -just enter the country in. I'm glad there is another editor who realises how shockingly uneven the coverage on films on wikipedia/ Greece must have produced tens of thousands of films yet we only have about 20 articles I think. Again keep up the work in the poor areas. Best regards . King of Baldness ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:21, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

I've recently been filling in Brazilian films of the 1920s and I aim to try to fill it in for each country. I may get around to doing Greece some time in 2030!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:24, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Or was because you found a disambiguation??? for the film Madame X? ♦ King of Baldness ♦ "Talk"? 15:42, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Ahh I see. I know Hoverfish did a little bit of work on them but he appeared to die didn't he. We need more contributors on world films it seems only a handful of us who actually try to expand the coverage on film and actors - the others seem to spend 95% of the their time at councils and working on one article!! Keep up the good work anyway. ♦ King of Baldness ♦ "Talk"? 15:50, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Don't forget to add the films to the years. Cheers! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:12, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Keep up the good work ! Oops! Didn't mean to hound you. Cheers! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:18, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes I've just been looking thanks for adding those films. Already it is looking much much better thanks to your hard work. Nice job on those Harold Lloyd films!!!! It is a shame several of the 1910s films have been lost. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:56, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

You know, if you often do movie pages and all your articles have in common are the list of casts, we can stave off the CSBot notices by whitelisting you. Provided, of course, that you then remain ultra-careful about cut-and-paste. — Coren (talk) 02:45, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Infobox actor

Hi, you might want to take a look at Template:Infobox actor

Your edits are great additions but the template you are using is out of date.

The following parameters are obsolete in infobox actor:
bgcolour (silver is now assumed for death), height,(plus others which you are not using in your edits)

The following parameters have been changed:
location has been replaced by birthplace or deathplace
homepage has been replaced by website

One of the reasons I bring this up is the addition of Template:Persondata is now being implemented as a standard in wikipedia bios and people. And some parser programs will not recognize some of the parameters you are using to create the persondata template.

I also suggest using template:birth date and template:death date and age You can delete these infoboxes --Jeanenawhitney (talk) 19:31, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Attitude Records (US)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Attitude Records (US), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Attitude Records (US). List of record labels starting with a non-letter, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that List of record labels starting with a non-letter satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of record labels starting with a non-letter and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of List of record labels starting with a non-letter during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. <J-ſtan<TalkContribs 04:28, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanx for Back to the Woods (1937 film)

Lugnuts - Thanx for improving and adding to the article Back to the Woods. I have seen those Stooge shorts a thousand times, and still forget to add some of those details you did. Again, many thanx! Oanabay04 (talk) 14:03, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Aerosmith

Lucky guy!! Bet they were great. I'm a huge Aerosmith fan but have never seen them live -97 -I love Tyler's voice -he really is the Demon o' Screamin!. I've seen Def Leppard five times and Bon Jovi 3 times though! Incidentally the Bon Jovi images we have on wikipedia today we taken by me. I;ve have loved to have seen Queen or Guns n Roses live. I've seen Velvet Revolver though. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:12, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Thats cool! Have you seen my guitars and my amp on my user page? Crap picture but music is a major part of me i;ve been playing since I was 7 and piano since I was 5, I managed to pick up that 100w amp last year on ebay for a great price!! many bands use 100w amps for indoor gigs. In the house it is set on 0.1 volume -any louder and the house literally shakes! On volume 10 it would literally blow the roofs off the houses in the street and more than likely kill me!! I'm really into classic rock and stuff -I;d have loved to have seen Zeppelin in London a few weeks ago apparently it was awesome (so too was the price)- I love playing along with my cds and dvds Satriani, Steve Vai, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Johnson, Malmsteen etc- the coolest has to be playing along with Hendrix on the Woodstock dvd 1969 baby! I can't get the tuning right though as it was out of key -somehwere between E and E flat! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 14:31, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Oh awesome isn't it! Spangled has to be the all time greatest rock performance and certainly the most iconic -I remember one of the guys on the special edition dvd saying about how it came at an very important moment at the end of the 1960s and symbolized everything about culture in that decade - free spirited and politically rebellious. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 14:39, 24 December 2007 (UTC). Oh do you like my image gallery? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 14:31, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

You just reminded me -I added an image to Hugh McDonald (musician) -cropped from the one of Jon. I should have taken a decent image of him while I had the chance - but it was difficult as he was across the stage ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 15:02, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi lugs a request, Can you start Carol Speed when you have a moment. Notable role includes Abby. Thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 16:15, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks mate! She reminds be rather of another blaxploitation actress Gloria Hendry. While I expand the content on the world films and lists, one of my goals for 2008 is to beginning making sure every American film has a poster and screenshot and a plot and cast section with the decade template. It makes a huge difference to the quality with images -see Speed (film) now -it really brings the film to life in the article. It amazes me how many huge blockbuster films on wikipedia are still stubs or written pathetically with no images, I hope the image policy remains for use of limited screenshots otherwise I'm gonna be getting bot messages in their thousands which I don't want!! Hope you are enjoying yourself - I was rather too busy yesterday to edit! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 17:45, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Thats right! Best regards ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 17:49, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Eason

Huh - I remember creating the articles on B. Reeves Eason, William Garwood, Charlotte Burton, Harry von Meter etc. Wow it feels like ages ago! Good to see you are doing something with them -I wish there was more info and images available on the 1910s films though - many have been lost though haven;t they ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 16:48, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Hmm thats a tough one as there appears to be some kind of convention that all people from bosnia and herz are named this way. E.g Painters from...., journalists from... etc rather than Bosnian and Herzegovinian artists etc -I guess it has something to do with the dual names. If you changed one you'd have to change them all. Isn't there some kind of a Wikiproject bosnia or seomthing you could address it with? I agree it looks out of place with the other film directors naming conventions ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 17:22, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Roscoe Arbuckle Filmography

Love your Roscoe Arbuckle filmography, Lugnuts. I've noticed that we're frequently working on the same articles and I think your Arbuckle filmography is quite an achievement. I did most of the Mabel Normand site's filmography and the ones for Wallace Beery and his brother and nephew, among many others. I became quite impressed with Arbuckle when I saw the 56-film retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art here in Manhattan--twice--and of course most of his very best work was with Mabel Normand, who is probably my favorite actress (I flipped when I saw her in Her Awakening at the Museum at a separate retrospective; I've never seen anything remotely like that performance captured on film).

I don't know about you, but I find that Wikipedia sucks so much of time that I wish I could stop contributing but it is addictive. One of my New Years' Resolutions will be to stop, but my last effort to do that lasted maybe one day.Skymasterson (talk) 04:15, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
