Longhair[edit]

Longhair, please, I do not want to be an editor at wikipedia. I really screwed up on Stanley Boots Adams, adding a wife with their familysearch link for proof of marriage. And I don't want to screw up again like I did with Boots. That was really terrifying for me. Especially on people I love like the Jester family.

I'm a genealogist, 39 years worth of experience on Jester history. I do most of my work at wikitree.com Jester-173 I know wiki markup is wiki markup. But before I learned how to use wikitree, I spent months literally in tears trying to learn it. I don't want to go thru that again.

After I screwed up on Adams, I promised NEVER to edit wikipedia again. Please don't make me break my promise. I understand how difficult it is sometimes to have people make "suggestions". I created Ralph Jester's profile at wikitree https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Jester-889 on a suggestion. I also did Maurice David Jester https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Jester-886 on a suggestion by the same person. And I made these suggestions. I trust wikipedia for it's content. I don't want to be the cause of making people correct my errors.

If the evidence I gave isn't good enough for wikipedia I understand.

Gråbergs Gråa Sång[edit]

So, you're telling me that historical documents and artifacts aren't allowed because they come from familysearch?

I can understand if WP said "don't use the trees found at familysearch.org" But Historical Documents?

WP has Texas Handbook Online for George Taylor Jester, yet THO does not have a source for the statement that Levi died in 1858. Whereas there is an artifact called a headstone that clearly state April 30, 1851. And the 1850 Census for Morgan County, IL clearly states there is a Levi Jester with wife Diadima. Yes, the transcribers did get the names off, reading ancient script is not always easy.

And yes, experienced genealogists know how to piece together a family from historical documents and get them right.

If the Findagrave memorial did not have the image of the headstone, yeah, don't use it, its a hard sell. But since it does, and we know by the census that Levi was in Morgan Co. at the time just prior to the death date on the headstone, its probably better then a source that doesn't have a citation at all?

And YES, the passenger lists I used for Ralph Jester are also historical documents. And his reported marital status on those passenger lists also corresponds directly with the article for Elizabeth Hawes at the times it says she was married, separated and divorced from Ralph Jester.

Next will it be muster cards from Fold3 aren't allowed either?
