[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. MER-C 12:43, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello MER-C, thank you for your message. I don't know whether you had a proper look at the linked website in question yet, but I think it's highly relevant for each Wikipedia article I placed a link at because the authors speak their poems especially FOR lyrikline so they can be listened to by people interested in their poetry everywhere in the world for free. So the project as well as its publicity is supported, desired and legitimated by the poets, who actively contribute to this website by coming to the lyrikline studio or sending their audio recordings to be published on the website.
The project lyrikline is supported by the German UNESCO Commission, the Goethe Institute, the Senate of Berlin, the Federal Cultural Ministry of Germany and many partner institutions worldwide that all work together to foster an international multilingual cultural network that is presenting the best authors of our time and make their work available to an international audience. Moreover the project initiates translations of the poetry into as many languages as possible, trying to contribute to an active linguistic diversity on the internet.
lyrikline.org has received the renowned Grimme-Online-Award in the category culture and entertainment in 2005, the same year that the Wikimedia Foundation was awarded with the same prize in the category knowledge and education for Wikipedia.
Certainly every link placed on Wikipedia is promotion in a way, in this case I dare say the aspect of promotion should be judged as minor to the cultural value and international reputation of the website in question.
It was a pity for me to see that you deleted all the links. Maybe my preceding explanation has changed your mind on whether or not lyrikline should appear on poets' Wikipedia articles. In case you persist on your opinion, I will of course stop as it is not my intention to fill Wikipedia with information that is regarded as spam but to enrich the article with an opportunity for both author and recipient. Thank you, Lyriker
This account with this username has been blocked indefinitely because the username may be rude or inflammatory, be unnecessarily long or confusing, be too similar to an existing user, contain the name of an organization or website, refer to a Wikipedia or Wikimedia Foundation process or namespace, or be otherwise inappropriate (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

You are encouraged to create a new account and contribute to Wikipedia under an appropriate username. Our username policy provides guidance on selecting your username.

Alternately, you may request a change in username if you want to keep the contributions from this account. To do so, please follow these directions:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked.
  3. You will have 24 hours after the unblock to file a request before you may be re-blocked. Please note, you may only request a name that is not already in use; do not create the new account then request a name change. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username.

In many cases (especially if your account has few or no edits), it is much easier to create a new account. You may also edit Wikipedia without creating an account. Due to Wikipedia's mechanism for enforcing name changes, your IP address may be temporarily blocked. Unless you have also been engaging in vandalism or impersonation of another user, we will remove that block as soon as possible.

If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.

Dear Hu12 and MER-C,
I did send an e-mail to Hu12 as suggested in the text above because as far as I understand, he or :she is the administrator who initiated the block. There was no reaction to my e-mail, so now I'm :not sure whether it arrived and I'd like to bring up the topic here again.
I understand now that the way I acted is not accepted. I am sorry for that, I apologize for it and :I reversed everything I placed in Wikipedia myself where it had not been done already (except some :additions in the content of 2 or 3 articles in the german version). I do not want to damage the :work of Wikipedia with contributions that are not wanted as I appreciate and value Wikipedia.
I only want to solicit you to undo the block for the URL lyrikline because in the past many :other people have set the link to this site in various Wikipedia articles in several languages and :judged it to be a good and suitable addition to the articles. It really is a valuable website that, :when it comes to portraits of contemporary international poets, is in accordance with all the :aspects Wikipedia demands of the quality of a website. I ask you to give other people the chance to :link to lyrikline and undo the block. It would be a disappointment for all the authors and their :commitment too.
I hope you will answer and we can at least talk about it.
Thank you! --Lyriker (talk) 12:35, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not much to talk about. Wikipedia is NOT a "repository of links" or a "vehicle for advertising" and persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted.

Serious errors made here.

[edit]

If all --or even most -- of the links are legitimate, it isn't linkspam. No evidence of COI, name similarity simply indicates interest. ("Lyrik" and "Lyriker" simply mean "poetry," and "Lyrikline.org" would then mean something linke Poetline.org. Lyrikline appears to be a recognized and legitimate site with notable support, de.wp, which would probably know the most, has totally whitelisted lyrikline.org. It's meta blacklisted, I've now requested delisting there. This user should be unblocked, the user didn't continue the alleged linkspamming here after warning, and apologized. And the supposed violating username wasn't. This is old, but, at least, it may be possible to undo some of the damage. --Abd (talk) 16:56, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
