File permission problem with File:A stage greeting was held by the familiar Sanzo group.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:A stage greeting was held by the familiar Sanzo group.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —‍Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 00:25, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Character articles[edit]

You see. When creating articles for fictional characters in Wikipedia, the most important thing is not importance in fiction but instead real world information. That's the concept of WP:Notability. See Gon Freecs or Piccolo who have a reception section where most of they are described by critics. On a weird case, see Yuta Okkotsu who hasn't appeared much in Jujutsu Kaisen anime other than the prequel movie yet there is a a lot creation and how the media reacted at his character. Reading the manual of style might help too.Tintor2 (talk) 18:16, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nice work with Saiyuki. It sure improved a lot.Tintor2 (talk) 23:13, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Tintor2: Thank you, Your works on character articles are amazing, I'm sorry to say it again, but can you work on the Genjo Sanzo (saiyuki) article? The article needs creation and development and characterization and themes of character and the actor's interviews are also available in the saiyuki (manga)#Drama CDs section. Can you please improve this article a bit? M.A.LasTroniN910 (talk) 04:27, 2 July 2023‎ (UTC)[reply]

I don't have knowledge of Saiyuki but I think there might be potential for a character article. First of all you gotta find for third party sources to establish WP:Notability such as reviews of the series, popularity polls or article focused on any character. Creation information is useful which I believe could be found in a tankobon volume or an interview made online. Simply google "Saiyuki interview" or "character review" among other examples. See Chisato Nishikigi for a recent example of notable character or Akira Fudo for a more classic character. Cheers. Also I would suggest removing unneeded nonfree images due to copyright issues. Just try two or three if possible.Tintor2 (talk) 22:34, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Review[edit]

I recommend you to avoid nominating it until it seems complete in coverage. For starters, the plot section is not complete and seems a bit written in in-universe fashion. "the manhua caused a sensation in Japan, It has appeared on NHK, Japan's CCTV, for three times, and was praised as "a world-class masterpiece of Chinese comics." Seems better for the reception section. All the episodes and chapter list lack summaries of what happens in the narrative too. In regards to reception, I suggest you expanding it more with what exact part of the story was praised by the critics as well as the art. It also lacks a production section. I would recommend you revising it to make it look like other GAs like D.Gray-man, Vinland Saga (manga), Tokyo Babylon or The Case Study of Vanitas. Your work in Saiyuki seems better but I suggest you to search for creation sources. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 18:29, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: I made the production section, but because half of it was Google translated and I did not rewrite it, it was deleted. I wanted you to rewrite this section. GOCE copy-edit requests removed[edit]

Hi M.A.LasTroniN910, welcome to Wikipedia; I'm Baffle_gab1978, a copy-editor with the Guild of Copy Editors (GOCE). I've removed your copy-edit requests for Saiyuki Gaiden (OVA), Saiyuki: Requiem (film), Gensomaden Saiyuki (TV series), Saiyuki Reload (TV series), Saiyuki Reload Gunlock (TV series), Saiyuki Reload Blast (TV series) and Saiyuki Reload: Zeroin (TV series) at the GOCE Requests page (REQ) here because REQ currently has a limit of two requests per editor at any one time. We enforce this limit to ensure every request can be dealt with in a reasonable time. If you'd like this article to be dealt with before the others, feel free to replace one of them with another; otherwise, please wait until at least one of your extant requests has been dealt with before re-adding any more requests to the page. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Cheers, 22:22, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

Saiyuki (manga)[edit]

Hi M.A.LasTroniN910, it's possible I've misinterpreted some of the more confused text; please review my changes and correct where necessary. I've noticed a lot of over-quoting in the Critical Reception section and have marked two subsections with {{quotefarm}}. Per WP:MOS, quotations should be used sparingly so most of these should be summarized, elided or removed. I'm also wondering if much of the text about the anime should be moved to (an)other article(s), seeing this article is titled "Saiyuki (manga)". Anyway, good luck with the article. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 05:42, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Baffle gab1978: Thanks for copyediting the article. Yes, the quotations should be more summarized and i will review them soon. I will also move the quotes from the anime section to Gensomaden Saiyuki anime article.

Prose in Saiyuki[edit]

In case you are worried about those tags, I suggest paraprahsing most of the sources. Scores of reviews barely say too much so I suggest removing them. See D.Gray-man as example. When I write reception sections I do something like this with paragraphs:

  • Plot
  • A possible subject up to debate (for example, a development of a certain arc)
  • Artwork.

In the case of anime, there could be potential to write about the animation, music or voice actors too if the reviews are that detailed. Still, I suggest using those articles I left in the character article to make it pass WP:Notability as nowadays certain reviewers want to see more articles centered around the characters to show the potential rather than reviews of the series which often mention characters. See Canute (Vinland Saga) or Osamu Dazai (Bungo Stray Dogs) if it helps.

Good luck.Tintor2 (talk) 17:08, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: OK, thanks for letting me know. M.A.LasTroniN910t@lk 05:29, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I have no knowledge about Saiyuki's plot but I recommend writing a full version of it in the article. Remember that Wikipedia is not against spoilers (well maybe unless you are writing in the lead). Don't worry that much about making grammar mistakes.Tintor2 (talk) 22:51, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable non-free use File:Akira Ishida in 2021.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Akira Ishida in 2021.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:34, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Gensomaden Saiyuki Requiem Original Soundtrack.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Saiyuki: Requiem#Track listing. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE and MOS:TVPRODUCTION.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:43, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There is no such commentary for this poster art anywhere in the section about the musical and there's no real loss of encyclopedic information suffered by reader from not seeing this poster.

Gensomaden Saiyuki[edit]

Hi M.A.LasTroniN910, during my c/e, I found much of the descriptions in "Episode list" were poorly written, sometimes to the point of being gobbledygook. Where this was the case I've rewritten the text as well as I could but it's possible I have incorrectly interpreted some of it. Therefore, you should check everything is accurate and correct it where necessary. Also, in "Reception", many reviews were poorly quoted, again some were gobbledygook, and some were direct or almost-direct lifts from the reviews but weren't in quotation marks, making them copyright violations, so I suggest you check all of those too – particularly if you're planning to run it through a process like GAN. Good luck with it. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 00:53, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
