A tag has been placed on Talk:Michael Merino, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently using Wikipedia for promotion. Almost all of us, when we start editing Wikipedia, know little or nothing about Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, so nobody can be blamed for starting out doing things that are contrary to policies and guidelines that they don't know about. However, continuing to do the same things after being told about the relevant policies and guidelines is a different matter. JBW (talk) 16:58, 27 June 2023 (UTC).[reply]
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text at the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Dear JBW,
I have never used wiki, this was our first attempt at using the site.
Please clarify.
Regards,

I'm not sure what kind of clarification you need, but essentially the point is that the page you created read like marketing copy, giving the clear impression that it was written to impress the reader with the fact that the person it was written about is very good at what he does. Wikipedia content needs to be written from a neutral point of view, and it should be impossible to tell from reading it whether the writer has a good opinion, a bad opinion, or no opinion at all of the subject they have written about.
There are also a few other points which you need to be aware of, as follows.
Wikipedia policy requires an account to be for just one person, and not to represent a business or other organisation, as your username indicates that your account does. However, a username such as "Joe at MCMFILMPRODUCTIONS" would be fine, and would have the advantage of indicating that the account is an individual one while at the same time providing transparency about your connection th the subject you have written about.
Wikipedia's guideline on conflict of interest discourages editors from writing about subjects to which they have a personal connection, such as their businesses or clients of their businesses. It also indicates particular measures to ensure that any contributions they do make are neutral as seen by independent observers.
The text you posted was at least mostly, and as far as I could see entirely, copied from another web site. It is almost never suitable to copy content from another web site to Wikipedia, for more than one reason, the most important being copyright. When you post anything to Wikipedia you release it for anyone in the world to reuse it, either unchanged or modified in any way whatever, subject to attribution to Wikipedia. It is very rare that the owner of a web site licenses content for such very free reuse, and in those few occasions when they do so, we require proof of the fact. We don't assume that content is freely licensed on the unsubstantiated say so of just anyone who comes along and creates a Wikipedia account.
If your only interest is in publicising or promoting one or more people connected to your business then, for reasons I have explained, Wikipedia isn't the place to do so. If, however, you are interested in contributing to the encyclopaedia in other ways, then you may request for your account to be renamed and unblocked. To do so, first read the guideline on conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks, and then post {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of this page, replacing the words "Your proposed new username" with a new username you will be willing to accept, and "Your reason here" with a reason why you think you should be unblocked. That reason will need to convince an administrator that you understand the reasons for the block and won't do similar editing again. To save wasting time asking for a name that's already been taken, go to Special:CentralAuth, type your name in the box, and click on the button. If the name is already in use you will see some details about the account with that name, and if it isn't in use you'll see a red message telling you there is no global account with that name. Thank you for the clarification. What we were attempting was to start personal pages, and misunderstood the formatting in order to do so. MCMFILMPRODUCTIONS (talk) 20:06, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
