Welcome[edit]

Hello, MKY661, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

Malaga Airport[edit]

Hi, further to your edits to Málaga Airport please remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a travel guide. It is not the purpose of the article to provide travel tips, etc... I have trimmed some of the superflous information from the article, please use the article discussion page if you disagree with any of the content being removed rather than re-inserting. Thanks. Málaga Airport[edit]

Hi, thanks for contributing images to Wikipedia. Including images makes the world of difference to an article and really helps the project. However, a number of images you recently added to the above article were of such poor quality that they make the article look unprofessional without really adding anything and as such I have removed them. Please only ensure that good quality, encyclopedic images are used in the future. Thanks, raseaCtalk to me 18:02, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In reply to your post on my talk, I'm not an expert and so cannot give you any technical advice but you may wish to start by visiting Wikipedia:How to improve image quality or asking a more experienced image editor. My gripe with the images I removed was that they were clearly taken from the otherside of a window and the camera clearly visible, which I consider poor. I do not know how to avoid that, an expert might. The image of the arrivals are was very poor quality, had poor lighting and was at a poor angle to the extent that all it really showed was that the place has walls, ceiling and floor and nothing else, there was really nothing to the image and so, coupled with it being out of focus, the project is not losing much by exluding that image. Thanks raseaCtalk to me 20:09, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Privilege Style destinations requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. March 2010 - Speedy Deletion Notices[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Privilege Style destinations. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. RadioFan (talk) 00:16, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re your note[edit]

I noted that you were having trouble understanding the deletion of the above-captioned articles. Although it's not usually considered useful to compare one page to another (see this policy for details), you note that other airlines seem to have a separate page to list destinations. If this is indeed the case, it's probably because the larger airlines have very long articles and it's considered appropriate to split out some of the content into some smaller linked pages. The Privilege Style article is very short and will fit into an average screen on most computer monitors; there is just no reason to split out any of the content and actually makes the article more difficult to use. I've reinserted the content into the main article. I trust this explanation is what you were looking for. Accounting4Taste:talk 00:44, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 10:50, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Monarch Airlines: Alicante (ALC) - Gatwick (LGW) charter[edit]

Hello MKY661! I was looking in the booking system of Monarch Airlines, and I only saw scheduled flights from Alicante. I think that the route map is not updated. Thank you very much for your help. --Dr RdL (talk) 19:46, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again! I'm gonna ask to somebody how can help us. Thank you very much again! --Dr RdL (talk) 20:30, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello MKY661! I was speaking today with people who works at ALC airport and I asked them about a possible charter of Monarch and they said me that the company only operates regular flights. Two years ago, they had charters from Manchester and Gatwick. :(
Also, I can say you that there will be a new charter with BA cityflier (ALC-LCY) [seasonal], from May. The slot is confirmated. Kind regards! --Dr RdL (talk) 22:10, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Arkefly destino[edit]

On 24 April 2010 you created the page Arkefly destino by cutting content from Arkefly and pasting it into the new page. When copying or cutting content from one Wikipedia page to another, you must indicate the source page in your edit summary in order to comply with Wikipedia's licensing requirements. See Help:Merging for more information.

Note that the page Arkefly Destinations already exists as a redirect to Arkefly. It was created in 2007 and was merged to Arkefly on 29 October 2007. Since you did not leave an edit summary, I don't understand why you thought the creation of a separate destinations page was warranted. Prior to your edits, Arkefly was reasonably short (about 9.5kb) and readable. The new Arkefly destino provides no obvious advantages that I can see, and since it does not describe the Arkefly airline may actually be less informative.

For these reasons, I will restore the list of destinations to Arkefly and place a dated {{prod}} tag on Arkefly destino. If you still believe that Arkefly destino should be kept in Wikipedia, you may remove the {{prod}} tag to prevent it being deleted. If you do so, however, please explain why in your edit summary and at Talk:Arkefly destino. Thank you and happy editing, Cnilep (talk) 14:49, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This message is in response to your request at Talk:Arkefly destino.
In order to move Arkefly destino to Arkefly destinations you will first have to have an administrator delete the current redirect. Place this template on Arkefly destinations: {{db-move|1=Arkefly destino|2=REASON FOR THE MOVE}}, with your reason spelled out.
After the page is moved, please change the target of Arkefly Destinations, which currently redirects to Arkefly, to [[Arkefly destinations]]. Let me know if you need more help, or to request help from other users add {{helpme}} to your own talk page and then type your question or request under the template. Cnilep (talk) 16:32, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for letting me know. You should include your arguments against merger at Talk:Viking Airlines#Proposed merge. Cnilep (talk) 15:10, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved Arkefly destino to Arkefly destinations per your request. The former title now redirects to the latter page. Cnilep (talk) 20:21, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Photo Reply[edit]

Hi, I'd completely forgotten about that but thanks for reminding me. To be fair the new photo is much better quality but I see no real value in it as far as the article is confirmed. It could be any part of any airport in the world so I see no reason to include it. I would suggest opening a thread on the article's talk page but for my part I would strongly oppose inclusion. raseaCtalk to me 19:53, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Birmingham Photos[edit]

Hi, thanks for getting back to me.

The only gripe I had really of the photos were that they could have been taken anywhere and didn't appear to enhance, in their current form, the article which of course is principally about the airport. Feel free to put them back up, excluding the Onur Air photo, but if there are any photos of these aircraft/airlines which actually show the airport as well, ie. at the terminal building, then I think that would probably look a lot better in the airport article, and feel more related to the airport. Thanks, WillDow (Talk) 08:14, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Buzzairlogo.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Buzzairlogo.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. IngerAlHaosului (talk) 08:15, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alicante Airport[edit]

Dear MKY661,

Why did you change the references about the Terminal where the airlines operate?

There are four airlines working in both Terminals (1 & 2): Air Algérie, easyJet, Jet2.com and Ryanair. And I think Tunisair also, but I can't confirm you.

Kind regards --Dr RdL (talk) 16:47, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear MKY661,
In reply to your last message, I have to correct you. There are two different security access to arrive at departure hall (one in T1 and other one in T2). Respect check-in desks, only easyJet uses T2. And finally, four airlines do boarding at both Terminals (1 & 2): Air Algérie, easyJet, Jet2.com and Ryanair.
If you don't prefer put the references, please remove this sentence: "Note that all departures are from terminal 1".
Kind regards --Dr RdL (talk) 10:33, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Mint-Airways logo.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mint-Airways logo.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:05, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Monarch.co.uk.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Monarch.co.uk.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 04:58, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

December 2010[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Manchester Airport. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Edit summaries[edit]

Tip of the day...

Please summarize your work using the Edit summary box

If you make anything other than a minor edit to an article, it helps others if you fill in the edit summary. Edit summaries are visible in the page history, watchlists, and on Recent changes, so they help other users keep track of what is happening to a page.

If you use section editing, the summary box is filled in with the section heading by default (in gray text), which you can follow with more detail. You also can put links to articles in the edit summary. Just put double brackets around [[the article title]] like you would normally. The summary is limited to 255 characters, so many people use common abbreviations, such as sp for correcting spelling mistakes, rm for remove, ce for copy-edit, etc.

Ta for your reply (copied to above).

We aim to please. The hints in this section & the one above aren't mine, of course - they're a standard wp:Twinkle note and a std. wp:TOTD, respectively. So, not my words of wisdom, but they give the reasons why wp:consensus is the way it is - as in Help:Edit_summary#Always provide an edit summary.

So, you a frequent flyer, then? Reply here if you like - this page is on my wp:watchlist of course. Trafford09 (talk) 00:18, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • AlbaStar (Please help me get more information on this!)

MKY, have you seen Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Airlines and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Airports?

You could post a help-request at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Airlines (but don't forget to add an edit summary!).

PS Thanks for moving that "Recent New Pages (Which I Created)" section to your User page. It looks much better there, and now your name is blue (like most editors'). Hope you don't mind, but I deleted it from here (easier to maintain one list, rather than two). Cheers, Trafford09 (talk) 13:15, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there[edit]

Thanks for your interest, and good ideas for improving the airport articles. As a general comment, it's probably good practice to keep Wikipedia discussions in one place.. so rather than replying to me on my talk page, you could have simply replied on the WikiProject talk page - that way conversations are easier to follow for other people. Hello MKY661,

How are you?

The exact date of the opening of the new terminal is not yet known. Is considering the possibility of 23 March. But I think it's too soon. Current terminals (1 and 2) will be closed.

Málaga Airport transport[edit]

Hello. I can tell you first hand what happens with the new accesses to the airport. Despite being scheduled to open in January 2010, they are still unfinished. [1].

Right now this [2] the only access to the airport. The road is blocked further beyond B. The highway marked here [3] is still unfinished and the third access, from Guadalmar to the airport, is so far from being finished that it doesn't even appear in Google Maps. [4]

About the railway, it's not planned to reach Gibraltar, but Algeciras instead. [5] Works until Marbella have been allowed, further from that, it's only plans and papers.[6]. Thank you. Ambil (talk) 19:16, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Page titles[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Viking Hellas a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Fly Hellas. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Qantas was listed on the Manchester Airport page operating charter flights to Bangkok and Sydney. However, no source was provided that QF even do offer charter flights to MAN. I have created a standard color definition template for Madrid Metro. In Gran Vía (Madrid Metro) I moved the services into the infobox. In Sol (Madrid Metro) the succession boxes were upgraded to reflect usage for Madrid Metro. You can see what I have done in those articles. Charter Flights[edit]

Hi MKY661! Thank you for all of your work on wikipedia. I can see that you've contributed a lot. I noticed that you merged the charter flights of Malaga and Alicante into the regular flights section. I have revert those edits because a consensus was reached on the Wikiprokect airports talk page about that. Thanks again for your contributions.Monopoly31121993 (talk) 20:27, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Thanks for the comment. I've been here for quite a while now haha, didn't think I would be. Anyway over the years I have seen most airline tables as all as one for both Scheduled and Charter, but there were some in the past that were not (Alicante was one of them actually). I hadn't heard anything about putting them back separately again. Personally in my view the Seasonal Charter: bit does it for me, which was introduced a few years ago and I think this has allowed them both to be in one table. I've also made the mistake of adding a charter airline in the scheduled table before a few times, cause I'm used to having the two together, plus many people who read these articles may not know if the airline is scheduled or charter, and may struggle finding it. One last thing is that I personally think that all airport articles should look the same. For example MAN hasn't been done yet.

Anyway that's just my view of it, sorry to be a hater on that, but you're doing good anyways. Thanks a bunch --MKY661 (talk) 21:02, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, thanks for explaining your take on this. I personally don't see how we can hope to keep track all of the charters and since they almost never have the appropriate (or up to date) reference links I think putting them in a separate section is probably the best thing we can do. Another benefit is that airports that get a lot of charter flights but have little regular air service become a total maze when both sections get merged; the page becomes confusing and less helpful to people who simply wish to use the airport during the other 8 months of year. That's just my take on it but I can see you've had plenty of experience with this in the past. Thanks again and I'll try to get to MAN ASAP. Cheers!Monopoly31121993 (talk) 14:16, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Format Of Typo[edit]

When adding the suspension of routes to the Wikipedia, you need to include a date when the suspension ends and A reliable source. You have not included any of these and I have re-typed your edits with proper format and added dates for the end of the suspension. I also noticed that you (very quickly) removed Jet2's routes to Enfidha without reason, next time please give a reliable source, thanks. RMS52 (talk) 10:03, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Thanks for this. I actually wasn't aware there was a set date for the resumption of flight to Enfidha with Thomson, I thought these wouldn't come back for a while. I've seen on other pages the words in brackets (suspended) so I did it this way. As with Jet2, the route had already stopped operating by the time I removed it, as the end date was very short notice and wasn't put up beforehand. Not coming back for 2016 Either. The same was with Monarch, but I managed to see these dates in time just before they stopped them :) --MKY661 (talk) 10:15, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your welcome, most people who put in brackets, 'suspended' are mostly new editors or don't understand the editing system, again you didn't really need a source for removing Jet2 and Monarch. But it is useful because then people may re-add the information again, thanks for understanding. --RMS52 (User talk:RMS52)
