Speedy deletion nomination of Ohio Eastern University

[edit]

Hello MUHAMED ALSHARAA,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ohio Eastern University for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Trivialist (talk) 03:36, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Ohio Eastern University, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 04:11, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Ohio Eastern University. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 04:13, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ohio Eastern University, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Please sign messages you leave at talk/discussion pages

[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at User talk:Cmr08, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 00:23, 1 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

About File:Ohio Esatern University Logo.png

[edit]

This is really a Commons question, but I'll ask here.

At File:Ohio Esatern University Logo.png, you have a contradictory licensing information. On the one hand, you say "there is no authorization to publish without handwriting letter from the Ohio Eastern University president." On the other, you say it's your own work, and anybody may use it for any purpose, so long as they acknowledge you as the creator.

What's the true status of this image? Is it really free for use, or should it be deleted? —C.Fred (talk) 02:04, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the old picture with new one more high resolution but It's still the same logo.MAA, (O) 02:17, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
if it's doesn't met the Wikipedia Policy you can change it to the old oneMAA, (O) 02:19, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
I'm not sure whether it meets Commons policy or not. Is it really free? Could I, for instance, go print t-shirts with the logo on the front without infringing on anybody's copyright? —C.Fred (talk) 02:49, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sir, this is a different situation, I am taking about the logo, I was replaced the logo with one more high resolution, but its still the same one. even, I was returned the old logo.65.185.60.142 (talk) 02:56, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am talking about the logo. Is it really a free image? —C.Fred (talk) 03:48, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Simply, No MAA, (O) 03:50, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

And that goes for both the old and new versions? —C.Fred (talk) 03:58, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No, for the new one only, ( the high resolution ) MAA, (O) 04:03, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

What is this for ??? ‹ The template below (Infobox university) is being considered for merging. See templates for discussion to help reach a consensus.› MAA, (O) 22:47, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

It means that the {{Infobox university}} template is part of a discussion to use it in place of another template. The message alerts editors of any page where that template is used of the ongoing discussion. —C.Fred (talk) 03:09, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, Thank you MAA, (O) 03:20, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Oh, one thing about your signature: you should change it to make sure that something in the signature links back to your user and/or user talk pages. For instance, you could use this code to link some of the text: [[User:MUHAMED ALSHARAA|MAA]] ([[User talk:MUHAMED ALSHARAA|O]], and it would show up like this: MAA (O). That would make it easier for editors who want to leave you a message. —C.Fred (talk) 03:29, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you C.Fred, every day I learning new thinks from you, because I am new in Wikipedia so I am still learning from you, Thank You MAA (O

Information icon Hello. I noticed that you attempted to file a deletion discussion (on the article Middle East University (Jordan)) but did not complete the process. Please note that, when listing an article for deletion, a discussion page needs to be made for other users to discuss whether to keep or delete the article. This is typically done by following the steps listed here. Note that if you are editing as an unregistered user, you cannot create a discussion page. Please consider registering an account or asking another user to help you complete the process at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion. Thank you. ansh666 19:51, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
