Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, M weth, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Hi! There are directions on how to move your page live here. Let me or your professor know if you need any additional help moving the page or need us to move it for you.

On a side note, is it possible to add more coverage in academic and scholarly sources to the article? You have newspaper sources, which is good, but many of them are from the same paper. Using a bigger variety will help show a good depth of coverage. (I specified academic and scholarly mostly because I didn't know if you'd searched all of the newspapers or not.) I found a few that could be useful, this mention in a book published by the University Press of New England and this one put out by Univ of North Carolina Press. (See also this This was put out by Random House, but should still be usable. I would discuss this with your instructor (Reagle), but it would be interesting to see if there's enough to have a section on her outlook on race. Thanks Shalor (Wiki Ed), that tutorial is handy. Just to confirm, am I right to be asking students to click the "Get Help" button to ask for your review? Then, you'll give feedback and, if appropriate, point them to that tutorial? -Reagle (talk) 12:51, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
M weth, I think Shalor (Wiki Ed)'s advice is good, but I don't think it should prevent you from moving to mainspace. You can continue to improve the article along those lines once you have done so. -Reagle (talk) 12:56, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages.
