Please do not disregard the "In use" tag - it means that I am busy working on the article, and it is therefore premature to affix tags re references. Thank you Paul venter (talk) 14:20, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 18

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Muslim Model High School, Pattoki, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Why did you tag the article for BLP sources and refimprove? Seraphim System (talk) 10:13, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

  • These tags can be removed by you or any other user after mentioning more references.  M A A Z   T A L K  10:19, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
I asked you why you added them in the first place. Everything in the article is sourced reliably, none of the content requires multiple sources. Unless you can justify adding this template I am planning to remove it.Seraphim System (talk) 10:25, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
  • Respected user! you are a senior wikipedian, so you can remove the tag if you like; but I only placed it because WP:GNG guidelines and also WP:ACADEMIC demand multiple sources.  M A A Z   T A L K  10:37, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
OK, it is not a BLP issue then, but you are concerned about notability. Wayne LaFave is probably one of the most highly cited academics in American law. His treatise has thousands of cites, many of them to court decisions. If that is the only issue, I will remove the template. Seraphim System (talk) 10:49, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
  • Yes. Please site more references and you can remove the tag yourself.  M A A Z   T A L K  10:54, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
Google Scholar can be a little dodgy, but for future reference, a named professor emeritus with 6000+ cites passes WP:NPROF unambiguously. I have removed the template.Seraphim System (talk) 11:05, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
According to WP:GNG, it is mentioned that: Multiple publications from the same author or organization are usually regarded as a single source for the purposes of establishing notability.  M A A Z   T A L K  11:55, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

Pakistan Army page vandalism by Indian users

Hi I just wanted to tell you that the Pakistan Army page is being targetted by Indian users who keep adding Indian sources and claims to the 1965 war section. The problem is Indian army page contains no Pakistani sources or claims on the 1965 war so why should we tolerate their claims on our page? Please look out for user Adamberger80 he is a Indian nationalist who is biased against Pakistan and removes Pakistani claims with idiotic claims that only Pakistani losses should be stated not Indian. Störm I have been here for more than 2 months and I study Wikipedia guidelines. As an experienced editor, you should assume good faith.  M A A Z   T A L K  14:53, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

You may want to review this behavioral guideline. See the 4th point:

  • A newcomer may save a tentative first draft to see if they are even allowed to start an article, with plans to expand it if there is no backlash. If, within a few minutes, the article is plastered with cleanup tags, assessed as "stub" or even suggested for deletion, they may give up. It is better to wait a few days to see how a harmless article evolves than to rush to criticise.

Thanks, Aymatth2 (talk) 03:20, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for your message. I will definitely consider this on drafts and new pages.  M A A Z   T A L K  18:34, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Deletion policy

I suggest you to get yourself acquainted with the WP:DP and WP:N before nominating any article for deletion. It will help you. --Saqib (talk) 09:36, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

I have used XFD before. You never patronized me before for nominating any article (including those articles where you yourself contributed). So, is this a consistent objective statement on your side or just an emotional reaction because your article was nominated.  M A A Z   T A L K  09:59, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
I don't think I have ever contributed to an article - which you under your current account - nominated for deletion. Have you been using another account in the past? And by the way, I am not getting emotional over this AfD nom. In the past, a couple of articles created by me were sent for deletion discussion but I don't remember If have ever reacted emotionally. In fact I never bothered to comment on those AfDs at all once I perceived that my creations holds bare notability or fails to qualify for standalone pages. Who would suggest to delete his own creation? I will defend Samina Khan with rational instead of bombarding the nomination page with sources and unnecessary remarks. --Saqib (talk) 12:13, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
I don't remember If I ever had contributed to that page. --Saqib (talk) 18:12, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
I was talking about your contribution in AFD.  M A A Z   T A L K  18:14, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

I know you're excited but please stop cluttering the articles with unnecessary tags. If you think any article is orphan then introduce links to it. Don't add and run away. Störm (talk) 16:49, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

  • If this is so wrong then why do we have templates like "unsourced", "refimprove" etc. I hope you won't get "excited" too as you are new to AWB.  M A A Z   T A L K  17:49, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Politicians

Hello Ma'az,

There is widespread consensus among experienced editors that elected provincial or state legislators in any country are notable, as long as that fact is verifiable, even with primary sources. Instead of nominating such articles for deletion, my recommendation is that you work to improve such articles and their references, since the result will be a better encyclopedia. Thank you. Can you please explain why you cluttering pages with redundant tags in a huff? The said page has been already linked with at least three pages, but despite that you tagged it as underlinked. The next time you misuse AWB, I am afraid I'll report it. --Saqib (talk) 10:23, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
