UK

Howdy. It's strange that we can use sovereign country to describe the type of country the UK is. Yet we can't use constituent country to describe what kind of countries England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland are. The former wouldn't be required, if could use the latter. Anyways, a less 'controversial' idea would be - use country for the UK, then say the UK is made up of England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland. GoodDay (talk) 10:52, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

Personally in regards to the UK and its article it is the country, the status of the others means diddly as they are not countries in the sense that France, Spain or Mongolia are. I have no hang ups on what the others are referred to in the lede or even mentioned as many country articles seem to omit such entities in their ledes. Mabuska (talk) 16:51, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
