The sex education debate, as coined by Nancy Kendall, refers to a diametrically opposed dialogue in the US which regards AOUME and CSE as the only sex ed options available to American students and educators. AOUME is heralded by its advocates as the "values-based" style of sex education. With focuses on purity and marriage, AOUME is heavily supported by Conservative groups /such as Christians/ who hold the same values. These supporters by definition oppose comprehensive sex education on the ground that it encourages sex before marriage, which is in itself devastating for youths but also has the (supposed) repercussions of STDs and pregnancy. CSE has never been proven as encouraging or prompting sexual activity, it does offer information regarding bodily functions, diseases, and risks (not unlike AOUME).
Schools and educators are caught between these debates, especially in a terrain with constantly shifting policies and in institutions that rely heavily on

Comprehensive sex education is recognized in the United States as standing in direct opposition to Abstinence Only Before Marriage sex education. There are varying levels to comprehensive sex education, depending on state requirements... Comprehensive sex ed is hailed as

Comprehensive sex education gives information to youth about sexuality instead of avoiding it, this allows students to know about this topics and be prepared be ready to take a decision or even protection whenever they decide to start or not their sexual relationships.
The benefit of use comprehensive sex education over abstinence-only sex education is that this method cover the population that is or will be sexually active, and allow them to take better decisions, methods or protection to avoid STI or pregnancy.[2][3][4] /////
