FA Cup results

It's not that the results aren't worth having; they are on the FA Cup 2008-09 Qualifying Rounds article. My position is that having them, for a single season only, on a club article gives the impression that the clubs have never played in the FA Cup before, and is unnecessary excessive detail on the club article. - fchd (talk) 11:29, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Actually as far as I can see Ellesmere never have played in the FA Cup before, but my concern is more that including a list of all their FA Cup matches on the article would encourage fans of other teams to do the same, and you could end up with a situation where a team like Lye Town, from the same league as Ellesmere, had a list of nearly 90 FA Cup matches included in the article, which would dwarf the rest of it and look ludicrous -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 11:33, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Yes, listing a club's best ever FA Cup run would be appropriate, in fact many articles already do so. You have to remember that the Wikipedia article on a club is intended to be a full overview of its entire history, not just a record of its results in the current season...... -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 11:47, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
