This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of North-West University Vaal Triangle Campus, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://quiz.nwu.ac.za/content/nwu-vaal-triangle-campus-profile-vaal-triangle-campus.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. I have deleted the article as a copyright violation.

It doesn't matter if you have permission to use copyrighted material. What matters is that Wikipedia doesn't have permission, and cannot re-publish copyrighted content based on your assurance.

The copyright holder needs to send Wikipedia an official declaration of consent for this material to be used, and the message must originate from an address that verifiably belongs to the copyright holder. See WP:CONSENT for more information. ~Amatulić (talk) 01:12, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Hello. The Wikipedia community does not encourage individuals to create or edit articles related to themselves or their employers, as this is likely to create a conflict of interest. Our purpose here is not to serve as a business resource for universities or to promote them, but merely to summarize what reliable sources say about them. (Reliable sources in most cases are those not connected with the school itself. Such primary sources can be used to add uncontroversial information, but nothing related to the school's successes.) Material such as "The campus also boasts with motivated and well qualified lecturers and above average student success rates, with outstanding research, sport, student support and cultural facilities" is generally inappropriate in any article and should never be included by an employee of the school. If reliable sources say that, other editors should and eventually will locate and add them.

I have removed some of the content from your new article on North-West University Vaal Triangle Campus as inconsistent with our aims. I appreciate that you are open about your identity and your employment at the university. I would encourage you to read WP:COI for more information on how you should contribute to the development of this and any other article related to your employer. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to come by my talk page. You may also want to seek advice at the WP:TEAHOUSE, a resource for new contributors. Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:11, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

On further reflection, I have merged the bulk of the content to North-West University. Those seeking information on the campus will be directed to the parent article. As the parent article develops, it will be appropriate to split its campuses into separate articles, but currently there is a lot of room for development there. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:21, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
