Lavoe

Been a while, I finished my Wikibreak and worked with Hector Lavoe as soon as I arrived, I replaced a few images and did some changes, the article is currently awaiting to pass as a Good Article, perhaps you can add it to the WP:LOCE, while I deal with the Good Article review since they usually take some time to attend it so adding it now might be a good choice, it will undergoing a Peer review soon and that might attract their attention, good talking to you. - 05:08, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Wowies, I just got back from my break too! Anyways, I'll be sure to do that later, right now, I'm heading to bed (it's 1:45 a.m from I live), well, let us hope for the best! Tu amigo puertorriqueño, magiciandude (Talk) (review) 05:45, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

The page was just recognized as a Good Article! I will do some tweaks to it and nominate it for Peer Review tommorow. - 03:04, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
*applauds*, I'm sorry if you feel that I've been lazy to you. :(

Okay, I've noticed that the Selena article is featured, so I ask, what features that the Selena article have that the Lavoe article doesn't that can make it a featured article? magiciandude (Talk) (review) 22:21, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Not much, a few audio files, its ussually not about the article's quality but about passing the whole process, I have been out for a few days so my next step is to nominate to peer review after doing some tweaks. - 21:45, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
The Peer Review is in place here, Wikipedia:Peer review/Héctor Lavoe I will now need some help so perhaps keeping the page in your watchlist might be a good idea just in case I am unable to edit when the concerns come, peace. - 01:58, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Don't worry, I've had the page in my watchlist even before it got GA. ;) magiciandude (Talk) (review) 02:44, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Whoops! I should have been more clear, I meant the Peer Review page, sorry! :P - 02:54, 24 July 2007 (UTC)~

Peer review isn't working anymore, both Lavoe and Ramón Emeterio Betances have been ignored so far so...we go directly to WP:FAC, that way we guarantee a review. - Caribbean~H.Q. 23:36, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Héctor Lavoe's FAC

I just created a Featured Article Candidature (that's kind of long isn't it? lets just refer to it as FAC :p) for Héctor Lavoe as I said last week (sorry for the delay, first week of this college semester) in here, I haven't linked it to the FACs page so you can take a last look trough it to see if you would like to fix something in it (I like as it is) when you thinks the article is ready just link it or ask me to do so, and as they say in Puerto Rico Ahora es que los huevos se pusieron a peso so we must be ready to work hard when we add it there, cheers! - Caribbean~H.Q. 01:01, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Well, if you have read the note on my top of user page, I won't be active on weekdays, but I'll be working on it this Saturday. On and, props to me for getting a barnstar from Tony the Marine. ^_^ magiciandude (Talk) (review) 01:02, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
So you will be active on weekends right? that's cool we can tag then since I am usually active only on weekdays these things last up to a month sometimes so I don think we need to haste, its just about keeping the reviewers happy specially those that originally vote a "oppose", so anything you see that may need fixing? - Caribbean~H.Q. 01:17, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Not at the moment, but I'll take another look at the article tomorrow. magiciandude (Talk) (review) 01:54, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

If my eyes are deceiving me, then I am seeing that Hector Lavoe got a FA status! All thanks to you. magiciandude (Talk) (review) 18:49, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Its true :) couldn't have done it without your help though, man this week has been good for the Boricua project two FAs and one GA candidate under review.- Caribbean~H.Q. 23:25, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

The Sega Project and SSBB

Hey, Magiciandude. I'm not going to ask why you removed the {{segaproject}} tag from the Super Smash Bros. Brawl article, but I am going to ask that you please inform the project on either the project talk page or assessment department talk page either before or immediately after you tamper with a {{segaproject}} tag. I didn't even notice it until today, and we've had conflicts with previous editors on tampering with the project's tag, so if you would please inform the project whenever you do, that would be helpful. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 02:33, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

I didn't ask why you did it, I asked you to let the project know. The last time we had some controversy was because we missed something over the previous few days and when we picked it up, it got into a hell of an argument. Just inform the rest of the project on the talk page, please. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 12:28, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Mario & Sonic (Wii/DS)

By any chance, do you have the Wii or DS version of M & S? « ₣M₣ » 16:23, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Yes, both versions in fact. Anything I can help with the article my friend? I was just playing the game just now. XD Magiciandude (talk) 20:57, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
I need specifics of their gallery mode. All I've found is that the Wii version has 5 categories of trivia, but what are they categorized by? Does the DS version have the same categories or at least 5 of its own? « ₣M₣ » 00:50, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Okay, here's what I've found, the categories are the same on both version: Olympic Trivia, Modern Olympics, Beijing 2008, Ancient Olympic Games, and About Athletes. The information you find, however, are not the same in both versions. Anything else you need to know? Magiciandude (talk) 02:06, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
The thing I find a bit confusing is only one of the categories has the word 'trivia' - I'm assuming its just general trivia. All categories have brief facts on the Olympics, right? So I'm guessing these categories are just by categorized "History of the Olympics and its athletes", but there is also "Beijing 2008". Does "Beijing 2008" discuss what will happen and/or what has happened so far? « ₣M₣ » 02:33, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Yes, the "Olympic Trivia" talks about info such as the meaning of the five rings, Africa being the only continent not holding the Olympics, how and when the flame is lit, etc. Not sure what you mean on the second part, but as soon as you go the Gallery mode, you find the find five categories and when you select one of them, there are five "books" (brief facts that is) about the category. Beijing 2008 talks about what each of the mascots represent and when the Olympics will happen, nothing about what has happened so far. Magiciandude (talk) 02:46, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Just to be 110% certain. There are not any team events in the DS game (like the 4x100) correct? Do both Wii & DS games have the same amount of modes and how many are there? Also, do any of the dream events in the DS version need to be unlocked? « ₣M₣ » 15:42, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

No, there aren't any team events in the DS version. "Same amount of modes?", I don't understand what I mean you there, but the Wii & DS have the same number of categories if that's what you mean (9, in both version, in fact. None of the events have to be unlocked in the DS versions, from what I understand (the DS version is my brother's and it was bought as a used one). I looked up game guides online and none tell how the player would unlock any events, so the events are most likely all available for the start in the DS version. The Wii, does require the player to unlock the events though. What else did the FAC comments asked for? Magiciandude (talk) 23:02, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, should be more specific. I mean gameplay modes like Circuit mode, mission mode, etc. Do both versions have the same thing? « ₣M₣ » 01:55, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

The modes are the same in both version (circuit mode, mission mode) as you were mentioning. The DS version has download play for the versus mode. Magiciandude (talk) 02:18, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Another question :P The paragraph that covers the Wii and DS gallery mode. Do both instruction manuals give the same information? « ₣M₣ » 17:24, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Surprisingly, I have the manual for the DS version, even though it was bought used. Well then, yes the information that give the player is the same, just not "word-by-word". By the way, I found something interesting, it's "Sonic at the Olympic Games", a stand alone Sonic Olympic game for the mobile phone service. [1] Magiciandude (talk) 17:59, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Great more "[Sega character] at the Olympic Games!" (sarcasm) So you only have the manual for the DS game? If that's the case and you're certain what's in that paragraph is also in the manual then I need the page number(s). « ₣M₣ » 18:25, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Actually, that's not what I meant, I apologize for the misunderstanding. I have the manuals for both versions. I was just expressing my surprise for having the DS version manual because it was bought used. Now, for the page numbers. Wii version, pg. 13, DS version, pg. 21. I can also scan the pages if you need me to. Magiciandude (talk) 18:35, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Ok, scan the pages if you're able. Also, after seeing this does the trampolining event need to be done with buttons or the stylus? « ₣M₣ » 01:47, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

And scans are finished! Here is the Wii version and here is the DS version . For trampoline in the DS version, it's done with the stylus. Magiciandude (talk) 02:27, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

"The Wii DS game has twenty sixteen authentic Olympic events divided into eight classifications in the tournament and circuit modes: athletics, gymnastics, shooting, rowing, archery, aquatics, fencing, and table tennis." Is that is a true statement for the DS game as well? There should be a screen similar to this one. [2] « ₣M₣ » 15:58, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
Not counting Dream Events? Yes. I did a count for the events, and there exactly 16 Olympic events. By the way, there is no tournament mode. Magiciandude (talk) 14:24, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
What about the first 10 seconds of that youtube video? Does the DS game have a similar screen where the events are organized into certain classifications? Also, according to Nintendo UK wii and ds have three gameplay modes. Is that wrong since it doesn't say anything regarding the tournament mode? How is rowing done in the canoe dream event? Is it simply stroking the touchscreen up and down? What are all the events in the Wii version that you can have a team? « ₣M₣ » 17:20, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

The DS version does have a similiar screen to it, the same number of classifications as the Wii version. The three gameplay modes are what Single Match mode offeres (Single Match, Circuit, and Mission), that is what the site was referring to. The rowing in dream event is done by stylus, control pad, and L + R. There are two events that allow a team of four: 4x100 relay and 4x100 aquatics. Magiciandude (talk) 18:35, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

To clarify: The same number of classifications, but are they the same thing? The rowing in dream event is done by stylus, control pad, and L + R. You mean "or" right? « ₣M₣ » 18:45, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Same number number of classifications, but not the same thing. In Dream Canoe, I did not mean "or". Stylus is used to row the boat. The +Control pad or A and Y can be used to change direction. L or R is used for items. Magiciandude (talk) 09:54, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Ok, now what are the classifications? « ₣M₣ » 17:06, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Atheltics, Aquatics, Gymnastics, Archery, Table Tennis, Fencing, Shooting and Cycling for the DS version. Cycling replaces the single sculls from the Wii version. Magiciandude (talk) 09:55, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

What does the manual say about the tournament mode? « ₣M₣ » 00:57, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

There is no tournament mode. Magiciandude (talk) 01:04, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
I was about to add "on the Wii". So there is no such mode in any version? Just to start to wrap everything up, I'm going to need what the Wii and DS manuals say about all the game modes. Scan them, whatever you want.. Unfortunately, replacementdocs.com does not have those manuals. :( « ₣M₣ » 01:57, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Nope, tournament mode is nonexistent. As for what the manuals say, I can't really explain well, so I'll use the scans. Will take a while. Before I get started, the ones at the main menus right? Such as "Single Match, Circuit, Mission ect." (Wii verision) and "Single Player, Versus Mode, etc." (DS version), correct? Oh and, if I don't respond for a real long time, then Fay has slammed my power real hard. Magiciandude (talk) 02:18, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Yeah those at the main menus. Also, "Over 20 events, organised in tournaments and circuits, make up the game." [3] Perhaps you know what they meant by that or perhaps it was just a preview and tournament was scrapped. « ₣M₣ » 02:24, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Well it was a preview, and it mentions that there are 20 events, which in the final build there isn't, and it's most likely not counting Dream Events. Therefore, it's most likely the latter. Okie-dokie, then, I'll get the scans for those manuals. :)

EDIT:Nearly done, all I have to do is send them to Photobucket. Magiciandude (talk) 02:36, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Here is the Wii version and here is the DS version. BTW, I'm only scanning if it is neccesary, since I'm still new to cropping images. Hope this helps. Magiciandude (talk) 03:21, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Hey thanks for the help. Feel free to replace the image of trampolining with something more popular, an athletic or swimming event would do, with the appropriate caption. I don't think a running event would be a good image to use, I think something involving less waggle would do. « ₣M₣ » 02:20, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

No problems. Anyway, for the images, I feel that single sculls would be a good idea, because you're using the Wii Mote and buttons to perform a sort of rhythm with rowing. The DS version, maybe basketball to show a Dream Event and that the stylus is used to shoot hoops and items with L/R. How close are we to FA? Magiciandude (talk) 20:01, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
