Bachata Rosa

[edit]

Cultural impact

[edit]

What are you planning to say in this section? Oscar 16:09, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

From what I've been reading on the sources, it often mentions how before the album, bachata was music for only the lower-class/poor people. And when Bachata Rosa was released, bachata then became enjoyed by the middle and upper class people. Right now I'm not sure how to implement it. Erick (talk) 16:15, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes you are right! Bachata Rosa had such impact in DR. We should try to find some newspapers or magazines sources to implement that idea. Oscar 01:04, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Google Books is the best place to look. That's how I found a good amount of information for this album. I think I have some of the sources that mentions the impact in my notes section. Erick (talk) 02:21, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, that's great! Is there any other subject that you think should be improve? Oscar 02:41, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you can find a source that verifies what "Estrellitas y Duendes" is talking about that would be great. I know what the song is about, but I can't put it in until I verify it with a source. Of course any additional information would be helpful as well. I'll be glad to answer anymore questions. EDIT:Here's a nice guideline for ideas of how an album article can be written. Erick (talk) 21:24, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've given my best shot. I've expanded the information about the cultural impact and got "Estrellitas y duendes". I've read on some forums that it was certified 7x platinum in Spain but I cannot verify without a reliable source. The closest I've got to was this site but I don't know if it satisfies being a reliable source. Overall, I think it's ready to be shown on the article. Erick (talk) 20:59, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt this one can be a reliable source. But what I am not agree about is about the Notes sections.

The [1]

section looks terrible. I tough I was looking a newbie edition. Why can't we include a cite book note for all of them? Oscar 11:44, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The notes section is just something I use when I'm researching if I find potentially good information or sources for my sandbox. I do not include them in the final work. Look at the album article. I've added music samples as well to it. Erick (talk) 17:00, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What a relief! Yeah, the article looks just fine! Oscar 22:28, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Cool! I'll just a have a copy-edited and peer reviewed. At the moment, I have it nominated for DYK. I won't be available next week as I'll be gone for vacation. Erick (talk) 16:57, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ha, ha, ha the first DYK is funny, the ALT1 is kind of interesting. The copy-edit looks fine!Oscar 03:21, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Keep an eye out when it appears on the Main Page under the DYK. Could you also assess the importance of the album on for the WP Dominican Republic on the talk page? Thanks. Erick (talk) 03:33, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mi Tierra

[edit]

The album style guide isn't a MOS, it's merely suggestion guide. I will follow a similar style to what I did in Romances. I guess we start with the singles and chart performance first. We'll of course need information on the how the album came to be and the recording production. If you have any information that could useful, add under the Notes section in the article. You're also free to add it in the article itself. Let's leave the lead section last as it only summarizes the article. Erick (talk) 05:55, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey i think i should've asked first before doing so much edits... I apologize. Also, i added some additional references at the end of the article. I hope they'll be useful. --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 05:57, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's alright, don't worry about it. I start with the singles section since the information for that section is already found. Any section you want to work on? Erick (talk) 05:59, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to work on the Tour section. I love tours. And maybe music and style... --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 06:03, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I will also be very grateful if you help me (after the GA process is finished) to get Ricardo Arjona to FA status... And, by the way, news from Basilisk4u? --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 06:05, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No idea, she must be really busy with life. Admittedly, I have never done a FA for a biography, but I'll see what needs to be done. If/when it passes GA, peer reviews become even more helpful here. Erick (talk) 06:08, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah,... Seems a long way to be FA. I've worked in the article from scratch. There was only two paragraphs and a list of albums, and now it has 73.64 KB of well-sourced information. It's the hardest and longest article i've ever written XD --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 06:12, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I just completed the chart performances for the all singles. Feel free to make any changes on the singles section and/or the article as that's where I'm stopping for the night. Since I did not write the article, someone else wrote that Volverás" and "Mi Tierra de Tradición", but I'm going to need sources to verify that they were even released as singles. Erick (talk) 07:11, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'll be checking them on Billboard and other sources. Good night =) --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 07:15, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Only found this as of now: http://web.archive.org/web/20091027122202/http://www.geocities.com/gemitierra1/mitierra-intro.html Seems like both songs didn't charted anywhere. --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 07:29, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not only that, but the source itself is a fansite so reliability is out of the question. A quick check on Google Books brought up nothing either except text copied from Wikipedia. Until it can be shown that they were released as a single, I'm removing them from singles infobox and redirecting the articles to Mi Tierra. Erick (talk) 15:48, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, they don't meet NSONGS. --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 16:10, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to resume working on Mi Tierra after I finish Viva el Príncipe by Cristian Castro. Erick (talk) 21:14, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
