Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, are considered vandalism and immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mike Doughney (talkcontribs) 16:16, 19 February 2007

Welcome!

Hello, Maharishi International Publications Department, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Your edits at Maharishi Mahesh Yogi are neither encyclopedic nor adherring to Wikipedia:NPOV and will be reverted. If you continue editing like this you will probably be blocked very soon. Andries 22:00, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Username problem[edit]

RFC discussion of your username (Maharishi International Publications Department)[edit]

Hello, Maharishi International Publications Department, and thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! Wikipedia has a policy on what usernames editors can use. Unfortunately, concerns have been raised that your username may be incompatible with that policy. You can contribute to the discussion about it here. Alternatively, if you agree that your username may be problematic and are willing to change it, it is possible for you to keep your present contributions history under a new name. Simply request a new name here following the guidelines on that page, rather than creating a whole new account. Thank you. -- Sam Blacketer 22:05, 19 February 2007 (UTC) Sam Blacketer 22:05, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Be careful, please[edit]

Thank you for your edits to the article on Maharishi. But you must be cautious and follow the guidelines, otherwise everything will simply get reverted and you could eventually get blocked from editing Wikipedia. It's simply not appropriate to delete a whole section that cites many different sources. It may be that the information and sources are weak and that ultimately the material could be deleted -- but the preferred method is to discuss your rationale on the discussion page and to explain why you feel that the sources referenced don't meet the guidelines. If you use the approach that you have been, it just brings the attention of other editors to the article and may make future changes more difficult. TimidGuy 22:11, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your username has been blocked indefinitely because it may be rude or inflammatory, unnecessarily long/confusing, too similar to an existing user, contains the name of an organization or website, or is otherwise inappropriate (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

You are encouraged to create a new account and contribute to Wikipedia under a more appropriate username. Wikipedia:Username provides guidance on selecting an appropriate username. You may also edit Wikipedia without creating an account.

You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia under an inappropriate username. If you would like to discuss the block, you may appeal on your talk page or email the administrator who blocked you. Due to Wikipedia's mechanism for enforcing name changes, your IP address may be temporarily blocked. Unless you have also been engaging in vandalism or impersonation of another user, we will remove that block as soon as possible.

If you want to keep the contributions from your old account for your new username, please follow these directions: (1) Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} to your user talk page. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page. (2) Soon, an admin may come to unblock you. (3) You will have 24 hours after the unblock to file a request on Wikipedia:Changing username before you may be re-blocked. Note that this can only be done before you create the new one. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username. In many cases (especially if your account has few or no edits), it is a lot easier to create a new account. HighInBC (Need help? Response to your e-mail[edit]

Your name was blocked due to having the name of an orginization in it which is construed as promotion. You are welcome to follow the above instructions to change your name, or you can just create a new account. Then you will be welcome to edit, we are not mad at you, we just don't allow that type of name.

I am not sure what the problem with the "Maharishi's official biography" was, but I can guess that it's license is not compatible with GFDL, it needs to be a very unrestrictive license that allows the material to be user for any purpose. Also, official biographies are not often used due to our conflict of interest guidelines. HighInBC (Need help? Ask me) 02:43, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
