Welcome and introduction

[edit]

Hi, Major Seventh. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person by golly! And this real person (that would be me), wants to say welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've made an account! Thanks for joining; you're on your way to making some great contributions.

Because I've noticed you've just joined, I wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. Any questions are fine, nothing is too silly (we've heard them all). Now, the tips below - hop on them - they should help you begin editing. Best of luck! Yessss! You made an account! Totally sweet!
  • Anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people. Besides that, you shouldn't feel nervous or anything about a good-willed contribution. If you're concerned, talk to us.
  • When you're ready, start your first article using the Article Wizard. You don't HAVE to use it, but for your first article it really helps. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references. If you'd like more guidance, you guessed it, talk to us.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page. (You'll want to sign your name with these four tildes ~~~~ when you leave something on a talk page to help know who you are!)

Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

P.S. If you just feel like poking around, Wikipedia:Help is a good place to start. :)

Lansbury, tables & awards

[edit]

I just wanted to reiterate that I am quite willing to continue working on the tables and incorporating the awards into the tables. That will allow you to concentrate on the other points raised in the peer review. I have a user subpage that several people use when adding awards to filmographies at User:Wildhartlivie/Award and nominations templates. With this, all one has to do with most all film awards is copy and paste the templates. This keeps us from having to look up all the correct awards pages. I'm going to a little league football game this evening to watch my goddaughter's son play in the semi-finals of the "Super Bowl", and planned on finishing up the tables when I got home. Hope the peer review notes help and some of the housekeeping I've already made to the article were helpful. Wildhartlivie (talk) 22:50, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I would highly appreciate any additional work done on Angela Lansbury. I am not going to begin editing it quite yet (I am in fact searching hastily and without any luck for her biography) and am collecting valuable information in the meantime. Your comments at the peer review will definitely serve as a good set of guidelines. I am attempting to fashion the article after Anne Hathaway (actress), and featured article content, notably Katie Holmes, which I believe is more in-depth than necessary (but hey, who's complaining?). Have fun at that game! Thanks again. —Major Seventh (talk) 00:17, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I intended to finish the tables tonight but when I looked at some issues that came up on my watchlist, I ended up spending far too much time undoing a mass addition of actor articles to a film series category (we don't add actors to those categories) and a couple other things and I'm just exhausted from going too much today. I'll work on it tomorrow. The game was terrific - 8-9 year old peewee football players. :) Too cute. Our boys team is a group of smallish sized, small town, barely experienced players who had to meet much more experienced boys from a small city (and I swear they were ringers from the 12 year old teams). But our guys won and they were so so so so happy. They play again tomorrow but I'm going to pass on that game - 18 boys aged 8 and 9 crowding into the local Pizza Hut after the game is just more than I think I care bear! Thanks for the well wishes!
