Definition of Neutrality

Neutrality - My personal definition of neutrality is something that stays in the middle, it doesn't go left or right. It is impartial. Not bias and focuses on facts and not personal opinions.

Merged Definition - Neutrality is being able to stay in the middle and not producing any bias'.

Evaluating Sources

How do we define good?

  When talking about what good means as far as sources, I think it should be a source that is scholarly.

What are good sources?

  Good sources are news sources, scholarly journals
      Primary Sources - government docs, INGO Docs
      Secondary Source - Scholarly source (approved based on peer review within the expert community)
                         Books published by University press(can tell within the copyright) 

What types of sources should be excluded?

   News article - they have agendas (magazines/tabloids/sources that are obscured)
   Blogs - could have personal bias 
   Press Release - They only show the positive
   Social Media -  Because it could be false news ad often misguided
   Articles that are very far removed
   Vanity Press Books (What does it mean? Self published - have to pay someone else to publish book)

How do you think Wiki Ed Foundation partnerships have changed who authors wikipedia pages?

  I think that it has changed the type of content that is on Wikipedia in a positive. By bringing in younger people, whether it be high schoolers or college students it brings different interests to wiki, which allows for more diverse subject matter.
