Peer Review[edit]

I'm editing the following article about The World War Memorial at Kimball: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_Memorial_(Kimball,_West_Virginia)

My proposed edit it to add more information as the article is very short. I would also like to add headings to help organize the article. Also, while the article has several sources sources, the sources are not fully realized(there are twice as many sources than paragraphs), so I will take a lot of info from the sources that are hardly used. Link 2 is also broken and my new source would replace and enhance the information from the missing source.

We could have a heading on African American impact. At the time there were little to no places for African American recreation, they could not even go to the one library in the city. The memorial provided a place for them to meet and hold meetings and functions.

I would like a heading on the fire that destroyed the building as well, as there is only one sentence on it and the fire was significant. The heading could be “Deterioration of the Memorial”, as the building had been in ruin for many years prior to the fire.

Followed by a heading about the repair of the building. After the fire local people wanting to restore the site’s historical significance worked together to help the monument stand as a tribute to those African American veterans who were a large part of the area’s history. REEMA'S FEEDBACK.
I think that the changes you are willing to add are pretty good. One thing I have noticed is that you are willing to focus on and discuss the memorial's importance. I really like that you chose this angle because the article in the draft focuses only on the building and its structure, which is something I would personally more interested in. Nice work! — Preceding unsigned comment added by LumpyRee (talkcontribs) 20:45, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Mal0037: Hi Michael, thanks for describing your proposed edits. Since both you and Reema would like to add headings to the article, today in class please collaborate to decide which headings, exactly, should be added. You, Sami, and Reema might actually collaborate in a shared Google Doc where you highlight the changes that you'd like to make to the article and decide who will make each specific change.
