From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi, Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your interest in this article, and in improving Wikipedia.

However, the biography of any living person is subject to the policy WP:BLP, which requires reliable, independent sources for the claims made.

Further, the biography of any religious or spiritual figure is especially sensitive, as there is very likely to be a conflict of interest WP:COI in the minds of any devotees or followers of the figure concerned.

Therefore, we must be exceptionally careful to apply basic Wikipedia policies, especially insisting on Reliable Sources, WP:RS, and Verifiability, WP:V. The policy on citation is of course WP:CITE. I do hope all of this is clear, as it is fundamental to the working of the encyclopedia.

One other hazard awaits the unwary, especially a risk for the devotee but possibly tempting for well-meaning editors of any persuasion on this sort of article, which is to rely on WP:PRIMARY sources - such as things written by Kufayev or people in his circle or group. Primary sources can be used (very sparingly) to establish "basic facts" such as date of birth, education, employers and the like. It is not however allowed to write extensive sections of a religious or spiritual figure's biography from such sources, as this is basically taking sides, a non-neutral point of view, in violation of WP:NPOV which demands strict neutrality. Therefore, I'd advise you not to use any primary source; most such material will be "from the inside", giving a true-believer's view of their leader, something that is of no use (and forbidden) on Wikipedia.

I would in addition remind you, in case you are wondering about trying it, that edit-warring (undoing what I have just done, which you have now tried, twice) is strictly forbidden, WP:EDITWAR.

I'm sure you can edit this article constructively - there is absolutely no hurry - and the right approach is to find some reliable sources in newspapers, academic journals, or textbooks, and to cite one small statement at a time. Adding large lumps of uncited text is the opposite of this, and it never works.

I have avoided giving you a formal warning, as would have been entirely possible in the circumstances. I do hope it will not be necessary to do so.

All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 18:18, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, for some reason I didn't notice you left me a message here. Thank you for your detailed response. I've only undone your changes once and I have no interest in a editing-war. Far from it. I am familiarizing myself in the ways of wikipedia and will edit accordingly. Maliczilyas (talk) 14:07, 23 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
