Clarification regarding Malik Ata Muhammad Khan's family background

[edit]

Hello Malik Sultan Sahib..hope you are well .I saw your edits on Malik Ata's page...plz note that Malik Ata is from Jodhra Rajput tribe of Pindighes. The Gheba family of Kot Fateh Khan is his maternal family. Malik Ata is not an Awan. He has very close relations with Nawab of Kala bagh Awan family. He married into Kalabagh's family before his marriage they were close relative as well because Malik Amir Muhammad Khan is the maternal uncle (mamu) of Malik Ata's mother and Malik Muzaffar Khan , the grand son of Malik Amir Muhammad Khan was maternal uncle (Khala' husband) of Malik Ata so they are close relatives but Malik Ata himself is not Awan , he belongs to Jodhra Rajpt tribe of Pindigheb....please correct it. I have mentioned it on the page .If got any doubt plz contact Malik Ata personally. thanks regards--Malik Amin (talk) 08:18, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Malik Ata

[edit]

Thanks for the reply Malik Sahib..Yes it is confirmed that Malik Ata Sb belongs to Jodhra tribe which is the clan of Rajputs. Malik Sb never states him Awan himself it is just considered and said by the people whether they are from Pakistan or abroad. Actually in "Awan Kaari" areas Jodhra is the only tribe which uses the title "Malik" . They have many villages in Pindi gheb tehsil of Attock and Malik Ata's father was the hereditary lord of Pindigheb. According to Malik Sb his grandfather was a general of Alexander the great and then he likes this part, married into a princely family and established a state here. So because of this title many people consider them Awan because Awans have owned it as well. Malik Ata from father's side (in punjabi we called Daddkay or so) is Jodhra and they have strong relations with Awans of Pindi gheb and Nawab of Kala Bagh family. He is son in law (Damaad)of Nawab Malik Ameer Muhammad Khan. This is also a big reason of considering him Awan by the common people.

Some people consider him "Gheba" but ghebas of Kot Fateh Khan are his maternal relatives as his mother was the daughter of Nawab Sir Muhammad Nawaz Khan Gheba who was the sardar of Kot Fateh Khan.

and the big reason is Malik Sb's contribution in horse riding, tent pegging and other cultural activities where the announcers some times call him Awan. and Malik Sb has vast relations around the world. The foreigners consider him Awan , the reason is the same, title Malik. thats why Michael Palins declares him Awan and other internationals who come to Kot Fateh Khan to see him also use Awan for him in their reports without confirmation from Malik Ata Sb.

Actually no body have ever dare to ask Malik Sb about it that whether he is Awan or not...:) (.wo kehte hain na keh suni sunai pe yakin kar lena) same situation here..

but i think it is also respectful both for Malik Sb and Awnas as after Nawab Malik Ameer Muhammad Khan, Awans has no such great man and because of Malik Ata Sb , the dignity has increased. The present Awans has same respect for Malik Ata Sb as they have for Nawab of Kala bagh. So i think is mein koi haraj nai ke log unhain Awan samajhte rahain but you know while writing a page i-e a Wikipedia page the fact is need to be mentioned..thanks you can leave a message on Malik Ata Sb's fan page on facebook and we can discuss it there ,,thanks link is here https://www.facebook.com/pages/Prince-Malik-Ata-Muhammad-Khan/106146302795298
