Hi QuadriSyedSahab, feel free to ask for any help here. Maliner (talk)

Maliner Thank You So Much. I don’t have to sign my comments here?
Yes, please sign your comments and also add this page to your watchlist. Maliner (talk) 06:25, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, i have added this to my Watchlist. Now please let me know some basics of editing so that i can contribute more and more. I’m on my vacations till 7th Jan. Please suggest me some of the bots on Wikipedia which can help me in editing. I have installed mostly all of the Gadgets from Preferences. I’m not known to bots, i only used Citation bot last day. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 06:54, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Citation bot[edit]

QuadriOnMobile: Do you know how to operate Citation bot? Have you tried Refill earlier? Maliner (talk) 07:37, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Maliner: No I haven’t tried ever, i operated it last day via this - [1], by adding Article name in single page section. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 07:43, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Task 1: Diff please. Maliner (talk) 07:44, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Look at this. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 07:52, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
checkY. What about Refill? To be more sophisticated, you can provide your diffs like this instead of an ugly-looking external link. Maliner (talk) 08:01, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don’t know and understand that. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 07:56, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I will explain it to you in the next chapter. Before concluding this chapter, please explain in your own language how Citation bot can help you in editing. Maliner (talk) 08:04, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It helped me in fixing citations, with this i can fix my citations easily just by one click. I’ll use this bot on my every page from now. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 08:08, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
checkY. Maliner (talk) 08:17, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Refill[edit]

See WP:Refill. It helps you to fix the bare urls. In short, converting a bare URL into a complete citation.

  • Task 2a: Go and use Refill now and present me the diff. Maliner (talk) 08:17, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I just tried it, you can see this Here. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 08:24, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
checkY Nice.
Teach me something more, if you’re free now. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 08:32, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Any efforts you take to confirm your article creations are plagiarism free? Maliner (talk) 08:41, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I write my articles myself after taking informations from different sources. Mostly i read urdu books and create articles. My recent work after reading Urdu book was Burhan-ul-Haq Jabalpuri which was drafted by you. I’m history and sufism enthusiast, i have many books even most of them aren’t on Google. Btw, I haven’t taken any step like that. Pls let me know. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 08:46, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is totally notable due to mentions and discussions in Government of Pakistan websites. It is a part of Tourism in Sindh. I have added 4 categories in it. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 09:56, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
QuadriOnMobile: You said it is notable, which is Green tickY correct. But per your explanation, it is because it is mentioned on the government website, which is completely Red XN wrong. Coverage on government websites generally does not count for notability, as most of the government sources, especially those from the Indian subcontinent, fail WP:RS. Your explanation should be: It is notable because it has significant coverage in multiple WP:RS, including the Daily Jang. Maliner (talk) 10:15, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner: Okay, so government websites are not counted for notability and websites like Daily Jung is RS. Do indian urdu news websites are counted as RS? And can you please reply me about the topic i added, and kindly tell me about using of urdu books, which are counted as RS? — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 11:05, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Earwig's Copyvio Detector[edit]

QuadriOnMobile: Let me finish how to deal with copy-vios first before jumping to notability. I see you have three unsuccessful requests for patroller or auto-reviewer rights; this shows that you want to be a reviewer someday. It is a must for a reviewer to check if the article they are checking is plagiarism-free or not, per WP:C-P. So personally, I myself use Earwig's Copyvio Detector. Maliner (talk) 09:36, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Task 3a: See WP:Earwig and try the tool. Let me know if you don't understand anything there. Maliner (talk) 09:24, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I tried the tool on Rehan Raza Khan, and there was 0% Plagiarism. See [2]. I understood this. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 09:45, 31 December 2023 (UTC) checkY. Maliner (talk) 10:22, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Task 3b Explain in your own words why, as a reviewer, you think using the Copyvio detector is necessary for you. Maliner (talk) 10:20, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner: I think using Copyvio detector is necessary while being a Reviewer to keep Wikipedia plagiarism and Copyright free. I should not use copyrighted materials, to make sure anyone isn’t using those materials, a reviewer should check it through Copyvio Detector. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 11:19, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources[edit]

I think you need to read WP:RS and WP:INDY before jumping on to notability. Maliner (talk) 10:18, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Maliner: As I understood it still, after reading. An article should be Independent, In-depth, Reliable, third party etc. per WP:UGC no one can use self created or generated sources. But here a small question rises in my mind, i saw some of the articles of Islamic scholars who are dead, their articles are on Wikipedia. They do have 2-3 books written on their Bibliography section and it was published by either the student or someone closely affiliated to a Seminary where the Islamic scholar was a teacher. Is it allowed? I’m not taunting on some one, I’m just asking that is it possible? — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 11:15, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It may be allowed in the bibliography section, just like further readings, but does not contribute anything towards notability per WP:INDY. Maliner (talk) 10:20, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Must to know: Daily Jang is not simply a website but a reputed and notable newspaper published in Pakistan, so it qualifies for WP:RS. You made the same mistakes in the Faize Raza article, where you cited newspapers as websites. Religious blogs, websites, and books run or written by non-scholarly individuals, lacking proper publication processes, fail WP:RS per WP:SPS. Same goes for most religious organisations and foundations. While examining sources, we check if it is written by an established subject-matter expert or not, if that work has gone through the peer review process, fact-checking, etc. In short, if the work has gone through a reliable publication process, it should be considered reliable. If written by a notable established subject expert, it would be the cherry on the cake. I see this error of curing WP:SPS in most of your articles, but I think these tips will be beneficial for your future content creation. Recommended reading: WP:SPS. Maliner (talk) 09:59, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Task 4a: After reading WP:RS, WP:INDY and WP:SPS, please comment on Jabalpuri's draftification, a detailed answer will be appreciated. Maliner (talk) 10:09, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner:, I looked at the SPS (Self Published Sources), but i can name some of the articles which are all standing on 2-3 books published by their near or dear ones/mureed/silsila people. I just tried doing the same, as i once asked in TEAHOUSE that can i create an article for people who’s information isn’t available on Google can be on Wikipedia, everyone replied in yes with some conditions (i remembered you were one of them). Most of the time, urdu books published they use some references from where they did got that information by citing [1] like that as we are using on Wikipedia. Regarding Jabalpuri’s article i used “Khulafa-e-Muhaddis Barelwi” book which was published by Idara-e-Tahqeeqat Imam Ahmed Raza International, Karachi a well established publishing house in Pakistan. There are source cited that where did they have copied or took the information. It is totally based on “Tahqeeq” which means Research. It is a research publishing house as i get it. I also cited some other sources there, which are book and they have covered Jabalpuri in detail, those writer/author are also known people, I’ll create articles for them also in future. Please tell me more if I’m wrong in any way. I just tried to do same as there are already articles available on Wiki. They use SFN and create articles. Please help me. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 11:09, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Red XN Big Zero. You are still unable to identify WP:RS, WP:INDY and WP:SPS
  • See Source analysis below

1)Abde Mustafa Officials is just a religious YouTube channel, so it is not at all a reliable publisher. Who was the author? Who was the fact-checker? Who was the peer reviewer? All were Abde Mustafa officials, which is nothing but a YouTube channel. So clearly, WP:SPS.

2) As far as Idara-e-Tahqeeqat Imam Ahmed Raza International is concerned, it is merely a religious organisation, not having their own website to verify their publication process. The said organisation is named after Khan, and Jabalpuri was his student, per his only available English article on Google. So how is WP:INDY?

3) DawateIslami may fall under user-generated content as the author is not at all mentioned there and the link is inaccessible at the moment.

4) How is Mujtaba Rizvi an established subject matter expert with only one book and zero citations?

5) Aina: The mirror is literally a blog.

6) By an author with a single book and zero citation. Also unknown publisher or SPS.

7) The Millat Times link is pointing to spam now. Even if it existed in the past, it needs to be analysed, but it is of no use since we need multiple RS to establish notability.

8) Bhaskar fails WP:Sigcov. Also, I don't remember anyone I helped at the teahouse. Maliner (talk) 12:17, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Maliner: so the article which are already existing there, what about them? They’re also same as i created, based on 1-2/2-3 books overall. Sorry my mistake they were Tagishsimon, Novo Tape and Thilsebatti who helped me there. — Quadrimobile(T · C 12:21, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can simply nominate those articles for deletion if you think they don't deserve mainspace. Although I am not aware of or interested in engaging, I am busy with my other backlogs. Maliner (talk) 12:33, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner: Dear Ustaad, please reply to other queries also. — Quadrimobile(T · C 12:37, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of IARA[edit]

Do this type of book mentions works for notability? See this [3], [4] this organisation is also mentioned in many books and they may be some news too. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 09:06, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Task 5a: You should be able to answer this question yourself after going through my tutorial above. So please answer it.
@Maliner: the two sources given by me, first is published by Bloomsbury Publishing written by Lloyd Ridgeon and second is Published by Amsterdam University Press and written by Sindre Bangstad. I may hopefully say it is notable. It is not a SPS and it passes RS and is Independent of the subject. — Syed A. Hussain Quadri (talk) 11:14, 1 January 2024 (UTC) Green tickY. Maliner (talk) 12:39, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner: so i can create this article? — Quadrimobile(T · C 12:44, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can't say anything without looking at your draft. Ping me once you've finished writing. Maliner (talk) 13:04, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
QuadriOnMobile: You may wish to expand Imam Ahmed Raza Academy with this source. In case you don't have complete access to Mahida's work, you can access various scholarly works through WP:Library. I think you are eligible to access the free Wikipedia library from your main account. Good luck. Maliner (talk) 17:53, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner: Yes I became eligible 10 days ago, I checked it by today only. I’ll expand it, In Sha Allah. — Quadrimobile(T · C 17:57, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"Yunus ʿAbd al-Karim al-Qadiri Ridawi is the the general secretary of the organisation". For this type of content, you can add WP:SPS (like their official website, magazine, etc.) per WP:Aboutself. There is no actual need to add secondary sources, especially when that source is inaccessible to others. Like in this edit, another patroller tagged it with the [page needed] tag. Maliner (talk) 18:24, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner:, i check that now but the patroller reverted their edit. — Quadrimobile(T · C 08:35, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reporting a user[edit]

I just came across an article of Yohan poonawala, created around 5 mins before (up for SPEEDY DELETE). I saw it’s creator User:Djajay.lobo.143 who’s name is same as Ajay Lobo, is there any place on Wiki where i can report this type of thing? — Quadrimobile(T · C 11:45, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The best option is to open an SPI; they are obvious meat puppets. Maliner (talk) 12:38, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I’ll try to do the same. — Quadrimobile(T · C 12:45, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Another lesson[edit]

@User:Maliner Please teach me other things too. — Quadrimobile(T · C 18:02, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is this book reliable, I’m somewhat sure about it but asking you for this. BookQuadrimobile(T · C 18:04, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In which context? Maliner (talk) 18:06, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner: Actually, i read something there regarding my next article. I forgot it now, lol. Btw, i created a new article kindly have a look over it. — Quadrimobile(T · C 08:34, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

I saw Tarun Poddar, look at the Cite [2] it is self-published. May i remove this? — Quadrimobile(T · C 08:55, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the medium blog as WP:SPS as it fails WP:RS. The Times of India is not a self-published source because it has been published by someone who is independent of the subject, although the opinion written by the subject himself contributes nothing to its notability. Maliner (talk) 13:41, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner:, pls have a look at my recent creations. — Quadrimobile(T · C 14:09, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@User:QuadriOnMobile:
Links please. Maliner (talk) 14:21, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner Check Urs-e-Hashmati and Shah Barkatullah Marehrawi. — Quadrimobile(T · C 14:23, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@QuadriOnMobile: I think it should be reviewed by another reviewer. Also not in a mood to research something at the moment. Sorry, no comments, since I don't have access to most of the sources. Also, requesting an early review is seen as somewhat awkward by the Wikipedia community. Maliner (talk) 14:35, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner I’m just asking you because you’re my mentor here and nothing else. Kindly let me know about some other bots to edit Wikipedia effectively. Thanks — Quadrimobile(T · C 14:36, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Red XN. You should not tag articles within minutes of its publication. Maliner (talk) 19:30, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner Ok. — Quadrimobile(T · C 20:20, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner I was just adding the same deletion you added on this. Btw, Thanks — Quadrimobile(T · C 08:53, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@QuadriOnMobile: Green tickY You were absolutely correct. It was the clear case of G11. Go ahead and try some more quick deletion tagging. But make sure to tag only the eligible articles. Maliner (talk) 15:03, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner Okay Dear Ustaad! — Quadrimobile(T · C 15:43, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

List[edit]

Pls tell me the way to make Draft:List of students of Mustafa Raza Khan Qadri better. — Quadrimobile(T · C 17:48, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@QuadriOnMobile:You know that you don't have WP:RS for this at the moment. So try searching for better sources for WP: Verifiability. That's all I can tell you. Maliner (talk) 17:52, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner While it is proved that he is the teacher of all those people, can’t it be done still? — Quadrimobile(T · C 18:15, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You need WP:RS to prove it. If you can, then please go ahead. Maliner (talk) 18:19, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner I don’t have this as a list — Quadrimobile(T · C 18:31, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bibliography[edit]

Is there any minimum number of books so that i can create Bibliography list, like Bibliography of Barelvi movement. — Quadrimobile(T · C 17:39, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@QuadriOnMobile: Baffling. Maliner (talk) 12:39, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok ok — Quadrimobile(T · C 12:45, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I mean I don't understand your question. Please be clear. Maliner (talk) 12:45, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly tell me about this type of article, Department of Public (Tamil Nadu) this is a Department of Government and it only cited government websites. — Quadrimobile(T · C 12:48, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@QuadriOnMobile: Check it out. Maliner (talk) 13:01, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Secondly, I’m asking is there any minimum number of books written on someone/something, so that i can create another Bibliography list for them/that. Like i created for Barelvi movement at Bibliography of Barelvi movement. I’m a small researcher also, I wants to know this so i can create many articles like this. — Quadrimobile(T · C 12:50, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@QuadriOnMobile: This is clearly a hypothetical question. Please share with me the name of the subject so I can comment on it. Maliner (talk) 13:06, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner Kindly check Bibliography of Abdul Qadir Jilani, Moinuddin Chishti and others. Check for one of them. — Quadrimobile(T · C 13:09, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@QuadriOnMobile: Go ahead. Both are super duper notable saints followed in the subcontinent, so I believe they deserve their separate bibliographies. Maliner (talk) 13:38, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, Thank You — Quadrimobile(T · C 13:39, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I created Bibliography of Mu'in al-Din Chishti, it isn’t final now, I’m on my research. — Quadrimobile(T · C 19:20, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@QuadriOnMobile: Sources? Maliner (talk) 06:32, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Panipati[edit]

What does this mean? Fact? — Quadrimobile(T · C 06:49, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Maliner Good Afternoon Dear, Kindly have a look at these, i think these are covered by some books but aren’t notable enough, what’s your thoughts? See The Islamic Times and Darul Uloom Aleemia RazviaQuadrimobile(T · C 07:07, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@QuadriOnMobile: My surgery lecture will soon start, so I am just preparing for it. Will check once I am free. Thanks for your patience. Maliner (talk) 07:14, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Maliner Okay — Quadrimobile(T · C 07:16, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @QuadriOnMobile. With reference to Alimia, it will be too soon to have it's article at the moment as cited sources are just passing mentions, contributing nothing towards notability. Mahida's source can be used, but multiple significant coverages from reliable sources are needed to establish notability. I haven't checked Islamic Times yet. Will notify you later.
