Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, 🛧Layah50♪🛪 ( 話す? 一緒に飛ぼう!) 07:31, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Xabi Alonso shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. The Herald (Benison), I was worried about being drawn into this. I referred the matter to User:GiantSnowman for advice and I have raised the latest action by the IP editor with him just now. Please read my edits and you will probably then understand what has happened. ManGoBangla (talk) 13:56, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, cool. Nonetheless, if the IP is reverting your edits, just finish it off by obtaining consensus on the talk page, like they are trying to do right now. WP:DENY also works when the IPs are being super admant. Hence, get the consensus and you'll have your way. Thanks. The Herald (Benison) (talk) 14:03, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but I do not accept that he is trying to obtain consensus. He is trying to make me back down so that he, as the aggressor, will have "won". I have tried to be reasonable with him and, instead of being combative, I have asked an experienced administrator for advice. GS has already warned this IP editor (see User talk:2A02:908:4E3:9520:2C6E:E875:F14F:6E70 which is the same person). I am not doing anything else with the article until GS has had chance to review it. I had not come across WP:DENY yet but it looks interesting, although it is a generalization because no two troublemakers (in any situation) are alike, in my opinion. Thank you. ManGoBangla (talk) 14:18, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If they are a sock, and a warning has already been issued, then they are looking at a block very soon enough. Also, if they really aren't looking for a consensus, you can wait till they get blocked and revert, giving the rationale of editwarring. Till then, I'd suggest to stand down and wait, lest you get caught in the crossfire and lose editing privileges over an adamant IP aiming for a LTA. Good job on the citations, and smart move on contacting the administrator. Happy editing. The Herald (Benison) (talk) 16:56, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, The Herald. Much appreciated. ManGoBangla (talk) 17:10, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to join fellow editors[edit]

Hi. First of all, I want to thank you for your interest in Bangladeshi football related articles. It's really nice to see someone deeply interested in our not-much-popular game.

I have noticed we have encountered each others edits few times in BPL football pages. I think it will be beneficial for all if we discuss the disputes internally instead of fighting through reverts and overwrite. That's why I am inviting you to join our facebook group to avoid disputes and increase efficiency as time is valuable to all.

You can reach me on social media through the links I've given on my user page. Regards. Diptadg17 (talk) 13:33, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
