I see you know how to use TimedText...

[edit]

...And are far better at getting the caption timings right than I am. There's a long list of TimedText pages with broken captions to fix, if you're interested in helping out. What funner way can there be to spend Christmas</s>? There's not really any central hub pages for TimedText (closest is WP:WPACCESS), so I thought I might as well personally inform you about it. Daily Mail

[edit]

Hi MaranoFan – regarding your edits on "Love Me Like You", I personally am not that fussed about your deletion of what you consdier unreliable sources, as I don't feel the information supplied is amazingly important to the article anyway. I'm just wondering, however, why you consider the Daily Mail to be an unreliable source. Granted, it's a tabloid newspaper, but still the second biggest-selling daily national newspaper in the UK, and probably more reliable that some of the other sources left in there. I do agree with you, however, that this article and several others probably should not have passed GA given the reliability of some of the sources. Cheers. Richard3120 (talk) 18:33, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Richard3120: Search the WP:RSN for Daily Mail. Several archived discussions determine it as unsuitable for use.--MaranoFan (talk) 18:45, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, thank you for pointing me to those links. Like I said, in the case of what amounts to celebrity gossip like this, I'm not sure how much it really contributes to the article anyway, regardless of whether the source is considered credible or not. And personally I have no time for a newspaper that probably considers Donald Trump to be a bit of a lefty liberal communist. Richard3120 (talk) 19:08, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Carly Rae Jepsen discography

[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Hi again, I'm the user that had been discussing whether or not Dedicated Side B was Carly's fifth studio album or not with you. I see that you removed the album from her discography on her main page, but I felt it was necessary to also make a similar change on her discography page. It was previously listed under her list of studio albums, however, seeing as it is merely referred to as a "companion album" on the article page, and not a studio album, I don't see how it can be listed under her studio albums on her discography page. For that reason, I have removed it from that list, and created a separate list of companion albums on her discography page for that album. Seeing as Carly has gotten into a habit of making B-side records, it seems likely that she will continue to do so in the future, so I think that doing this will help readers distinguish between the two kinds of records. If you disagree with this, please let me know. I just wanted to let you know I was doing this, since we had had a previous disagreement about this earlier. Thanks! 2601:48:8100:9740:CC17:175E:EDA5:106D (talk) 21:40, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. It wasn't "[us having] a previous disagreement" though, I was just upholding the consensus.--NØ 02:42, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Someone else just reverted my edit, stating that it is a studio album. But if that's the case, I'm really not sure why it isn't included on her main page under discography, bc that's where studio albums are listed. I'm really not sure why we can't just label it as a companion album, and not a studio album. There are other kinds of special albums, such as compilation albums or remix albums, so I don't see why we can't do the same for this. 2601:48:8100:9740:CD79:D42B:6C38:5D4F (talk) 04:25, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I will suggest you take it up on the respective articles' talk pages. Unfortunately, I'm not invested enough in Jepsen's career to be of much help here.--NØ 04:53, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, MaranoFan. Just noticed your retirement announcement on your talk header.. I won't make assumptions about why you decided to retire, but I hope you have had an enjoyable experience on Wikipedia, and hope you would find it a good decision to leave the site for your real-life projects. Your edits are greatly appreciated, and I am sure some of your articles have served as an inspiration for other editors who are new to this community. Best of luck, and stay safe during these uncertain times, (talk) 11:50, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your kind words, HĐ. My "retirement" isn't really a serious one. I guess since I got the Trainor article to FA, I figured I won't be able to top that achievement and wanted to go out on a high note rather than a low one. An Adele retiring after releasing 25 tea. I'm still around and will probably decide to become active again sooner rather than later!--NØ 12:37, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
