What if I told you none of it was accidental, and from the first FAC I posted, nothing was gonna stop me. I have met some of the most incredibly talented people here. I want to thank them for the last 10 years, and the TC project for giving me this unbelievable honor. I want to say to all the young editors out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you're going, you will know it was you and the people who love you who put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.   • Thanks a lot for the message! It is sad when these promotions go completely unnoticed by everyone else, lol. The Rodrigo material I am currently looking at is stuff from the new album; I think "Lacy" is the closest one to being prepared for now. I've also been glad to see a lot of the articles I GA-reviewed get FA-nominated recently so I may do some GA reviews!--NØ 09:15, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
  • I am glad to hear it. It is always encouraging to see editors take an article through a GAN and then a FAC. It is very satisfying. I am glad that you might do more GA reviews. It is always good to help out there whenever possible, although I must admit that I do not really do those types of reviews as much anymore. Thank you today for Treat Myself, "about Meghan Trainor's third album, Treat Myself. Before she made us look again, there was this commercial disaster. Trainor's label delayed it several times, spanning over a year, and can probably write a book about what not to do when promoting an album. She has stated in interviews that it is her best work. WikiCup 2024 February newsletter

The 2024 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with 135 participants. This is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2017.

Our current leader is newcomer Generalissima (submissions), who has one FA on John Littlejohn (preacher) and 10 GAs and 12 DYKs mostly on New Zealand coinage and Inuit figures. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:

As a reminder, competitors may submit work for the first round until 23:59 (UTC) on 27 February, and the second round starts 1 March. Remember that only the top 64 scoring competitors will make it through to the second round; currently, competitors need at least 15 points to progress. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup.
