Hello Plrk. Thank you for your message. I had not noticed the talk page and I thought I had forgotten (as in meant/intended to do it but forgotten) to add that link to that page. In fact, I had added in July. I will soon add my point of view on the Talk page.

I did click on "watch" page to get an email notification but for some reason, I don't receive the emails (for any Wikipedia page I am watching). I am trying another email address now.

In terms of conflict of interest: I feel this is relevant info about Wiki Syntax/Markup/text and provides both good and bad aspects about it. TikiWiki offers both a WYSIWYG editor and Wiki Syntax/Markup/text so we are well aware with both aspects. The page in question is also a wiki page so anyone can disagree and improve. There is a link to an article: "Wiki markup has no future" so people can read about the topic and make up their own mind. Marclaporte (talk) 16:05, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comments on proposed article[edit]

Per IRC discussions, some thoughts;

"a number of unique collaboration features" (as an example) is a strong assertion, and either needs a really good third-party reliable source, or (more likely) it should be removed. Because it is not a 'neutral point of view'. Others may claim that these features are not unique.
"an extremely large (more than 1,000,000 lines) codebase" - avoid vague phrases like 'extremely large' - in this specific case, I suggest you just say "more than 1 million lines of code" or something. Just state the facts - let the reader decide how significant they are. (again, per the 'neutral point of view')
In 'Communication Tools' ...features..."and many more." - vague, non-neutral tone. HOW many? and how many is 'many'? Stick to 'hard facts'
==High-profile websites built with TikiWiki== - non-neutral heading. Who decides which websites are 'high-profile'?
The "Major components" section may be a bit too long, and rather too list-like. Wikipedia is not a 'how-to' guide, not a manual. We prefer prose to lists. It would be better to summarize the key features in neutral, encyclopaedic prose - preferably using information supported by independent, third-party references (such as newspaper or magazine reviews)

April - National Contribution Month[edit]

Good day Marc,

During the month of April, Wikimedia Canada is preparing the National Contribution Month, and we are looking for experienced contributors to organize a contribution day (or half-day) in their region.

Contribution days are activities where Wikipedia's contributors, students, or anybody interested in contributing to Wikipedia meets together to collectively improve a predetermined theme. This meetings generally take place in library where references are easy of access, but can be organized in any communal room. Beside improving articles, a goal of this participatory workshops is to initiate neophyte in the cooperative contribution of Wikipedia.

If you are interested in organizing or participating in a contribution day in your region, communicate witht he national team on the project's talk page. The exact agenda of each local event is left to the discretion of the organizer. Help is available for the organization from contributors who already organized these type of days, so don't be worried. If you have any questions or want more information, don't hesitate to contact us.
