The article does a good job of being super descriptive and following a logical flow of concepts. I like how the way in which you describe the concepts makes it easy to visualize the phenomena that are occurring. I also appreciate that you've included some graphics to aid in understanding. Hi margcam,
Some thoughts on your draft:
- I think the lead could be written more clearly. I'm not sure I really understand the two sentences you added? May be useful instead to explain that it is defined in distinction to the fundamental niche. I'm not sure if this is what you're trying to get at already, but if so, I think this could be made more explicit.
- Your other section is also a little hard to parse. Structurally, I'd suggest maybe dividing it into two subsections: e.g. "Definition" (paragraph 1) and "Importance" (paragraph 3). Syntactically, restructuring some of your sentences with more interpretable subjects would be helpful as well. For example, in the beginning of paragraph 3, "The difference of the realized and the fundamental niche" is not very interpretable.
- The first sentence of paragraph 4 is very difficult to parse. I think this paragraph is about niche construction, which could maybe be an additional section (though it also has its own article that you could link to). Alternatively, you might consider combining paragraphs 3 and 4 into an invasive species section, discussing the role of realized niche width in invasion.
- References: Please make sure you cite your references correctly. See the guide in the wikieducation dashboard if you're unsure how to do this (https://dashboard.wikiedu.org/training/students/sources). Paragraph 4 seems undersourced.
