Kerite article

[edit]

Hello, I have some concerns about this article.

  • Some of the article seems like an advertisement, which isn't allowed on Wikipedia. (For comparison, here and here are two articles on companies I've written. You'll see that they have much more of an emphasis on basic facts like number of employees.) I recommend removing material that reads like an advertisement.
  • Huge chunks of the article are a straight copy of the company website, which is not right for Wikipedia. I recommend fixing this ASAP, since with this much copied material the article could get deleted any second.
  • There are no citations to reliable sources, which means that we can't see that the company is notable, although judging from the history shown this should be fixable.

I presume from this article that you work for the company. In general that means you should ideally not be writing about it on Wikipedia, especially not to add promotional material. Below I attach a more detailed explanation of this - an automated text.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Blythwood (talk) 21:05, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Hendrix Wire & Cable requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
