Welcome!

Hello, Markdroberts, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!

IMO this article does NOT speak for itself. It needs context. it is also an orphan -- nothing links to it. You should add some appropriate links to this article. Thanks for contributing. DES 22:56, 26 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Style remarks[edit]

Hello Mark, and welcome!

I have a couple of remarks about style. First, to make a link, say to differential geometry, you do like this:

[[Differential geometry]]

which gives:

Differential geometry.

Second, try not to hit the "Enter" key in the middle of the paragraph. That breaks a paragraph into several pieces. Rather, let the browser take care of splitting a paragraph as you type, then it will do it without introducing new lines.

Lastly, I edited your changes to Finsler manifold, but there are things in there I don't understand (I put question marks in there). Would you mind going over the text you wrote and see if it can be improved? Thanks. Oleg Alexandrov 17:27, 14 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

And one more small remark. On Wikipedia we write ==External links== with small "l" rather than ==External Links==.
I hope you like it here. Oleg Alexandrov 17:34, 14 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

so the full url is not needed? no http://www...???

I cut and paste (.txt) articles to cut down on time online, that's why there are lots of 'enters'... (unsigned post by Markdroberts)

Right, you don't need to use the full URL. Oh, and doing things the right way saves us a lot of time in fixing things in your contributions, so thanks a lot. Oleg Alexandrov 22:38, 23 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject GTR draft manifesto[edit]

Hi, I've seen some of your papers on the web. Would you be interested in joining a WikiProject to improve the GTR pages here? See User:Hillman/Wikiproject GTR draft for more information. I'm asking for comments on the draft manifesto and gathering up some charter members before creating the project officially.---CH (talk) 04:47, 1 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Academic Stubs[edit]

Hello! When you create articles about academics, you have to assert their notability, their reason for inclusion on WP. It is not enough to merely copy information from their home pages, you have to demonstrate what measurable improvements and contributions that they have made to their respective fields. -- (aeropagitica) UK 13:36, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
