Wealden ironmasters
I do know something of this subject, but there are others who probably know more. I tend to have relevant articles in my watch list, so as to deal with it when others write rubbish. - I will examine your article on William Levett with interest. One general comment: your citation of published works is unclear. The usual format is something like, author, 'article title', book title (publisher, publication place, year), page. There are a number of variations on this. There are also WP templates for citations, which are the best format, though I rarely use them myself. Happy editing: WP needs all the responsible editors it can get. Rehoboth Carpenter Family - R1a1*
Hello,
Group 3 of the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project contains ancestry back into England circa 1576. If will errors were not found, the line would probably gone back into France in the late 1280s/1290s and possibly even farther back in time.
Group 3 has two DYS markers that represent East European R1A1*. As you know, Haplogroups are measured in the tens of thousands of years while genetic genealogy paper trails are lucky to go 500 years back in time. - I forgot to mention that R1a1 represents about 5% of males in England. It is estimated that only 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 have the Eastern European markers. (The highest concentration of this Haplogroup and markers are in Southern Poland and the Ukraine.) Group 2 Providence Carpenters & Group 3 Rehoboth Carpenter family who come from the Wiltshire area would be relatively hard to find today in England. The Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project has identified addtional DYS markers to tell these groups apart.

- I have finished editing the lede. I will not revert your edits as long as they are reasonable, I generally do not revert edits. I am sure now that there is public scrutiny that your edits will be reasonable. If you think that Andrews Section titles are better than mine, then you get to be the decider on the issue, change them back if you like. I would ask you to read the last comment I left on the talk page, first. I have tried to improve the info-box. There are still issues in the R-M420, R-SRY sections, there is still a bullet list in the section on Eastern European migrations. And there is no introduction to STR analysis. - Marmaduke, of course it is to be hoped you might have ideas to go beyond what is on offer, but it might be helpful have yet another updated comparison diff for my old version, and the latest PB666 version: [1]; or if you want to look at the two versions how they appear online: [2] and [3]. Hi, I've provisionally removed your addition to the article on Bodiam Castle as it was unsourced (ie: per Wikipedia's policy on verifiability). I'm currently working from the National Trust handbook to build up the basics of the article before I start adding other sources, but it doesn't mention Levett. It's possible I might come across a source mentioning him later, but at the moment – unless you can provide a source yourself – it will have to stay out of the article. Bodiam Castle again
Hi, I thought I should let you know that I've removed mention of the Levett family from the above article. The problem is that the source is not of high enough quality. It's emerged that the source isn't especially reliable, and has been proven to be wrong before. In light of this, and since none of the other sources mention Levett – not even the guidebook, which is otherwise very detailed – I have decided to remove the information. It's likely that Lord Curzon used it as a source while writing his own history, which would explain why he mentions Levett. Do you find this acceptable? Nev1 (talk) 01:20, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

- Apologies if I am being too demanding, but given that no sources after Curzon mention Levett, I am dubious as to the worth of mentioning that the castle was sold to Levett at all, and providing sources from the 19th century doesn't really convince me. As for the primary sources, that is more convincing as to the veracity of the claim. I did not say they were of no use, I merely asked if you had anything more recent. Rollback granted
Hi Marmaduke. Per your request, I have granted you rollbacker status. A few things to note. If rollback it used it rolls back all the edit of a user, all the way back to the last entry in the history where another user edited. In other words, if a user has made 15 consecutive edits and you hit rollback, it will revert all of them, so if only the last was vandalism, don't use it (just to be clear, if the vandal made five edits, then another user makes one, and they edit one more time, it will only roll back the last). Second, and I'm sure you probably already know this but I say it for everyone I grant the right to: Rollback is only for patent vandalism. Test edits, even if they might be vandalism but are not clearly so, should not be rolled back. Also, please review Wikipedia:Rollback feature. Finally, if you want to test it out, the place to go is Special:RecentChanges. You'll find vandalism lickety-split (though I'm not 100% sure that should be hyphenated). Okay, doffing my admin hat. Hi! I've just inserted into the article a summary of the proposed DSM-V changes. Tell me what you think, if you like. Interesting stuff (to me!).
Mostly, though, I'd like to know your reaction to my new "Medication" section. It is NOT my favorite subject, and the level of detail involved in writing it verged on the ghastly. Can't believe how long it took, but it's done. However...there's been absolutely no comment on it so far. Makes me wonder if somehow I missed the mark... Marmaduke: There is an image of a seal here [4] used by Gilbert de Clare 1st Earl of Hertford. I have checked and it is not on any de Clare site. You may be interested in capturing it for de Clare article or Gilbert's, or both. One thing, when you get to the Google site, it will say page 48, you must use right arrow approximately 15 times before you get to the page with the image on it. Re: edits to PTSD, about "Third Generation Treatments"- I became aware of these early today, and will review them before long. The seem adequately, which isn't to say correctly, documented (I'll check). The are, however, some spelling and writing problems, at the least. Will take care it, whatever the problem.
This is the peak of my busiest time of year, and I'm having trouble finding time to get basic life maintenance tasks done, much less any real progress on PTSD. I'm quite frustrated by this, but sometimes one must take the long view of things and just keep plugging. I expect some letup before long. Images in PTSD article - some thoughts

Just staying in touch: I'm up to my neck in alligators finishing the launch of a website for our local Northwest Classic Guitar Society, after which I really must practice (guitar) for some real hours. Then I intend to follow up on this fair use issue. I want to grasp why other people can claim this right for their articles, but we supposedly cannot. At this point, I cannot see how this is being done.
On the other hand, my knowledge of fair use as a concept in copyright law tells me that it's going to be hard for us to claim any rights to use that image. However, I want to research it, because I simply have not confirmed to my own satisfaction that we cannot do it. Wanted to let you know that this is on my short list.
By the way, I took a look at that Lucretia painting by Rembrandt. It appears that he actually did two. One of them I find quite affecting. It does look more appropriate as an illustration for depression or suicide than for PTSD. The link to PTSD would not be obvious to any but the well informed. UPDATE Living a time-challenged life. Have been investing my WP time in learning more about layout, citation templates, policy, etc., which is a good idea. About ready to return to the FAIR USE issue at PTSD. At the least, I need to figure out why other articles are able to use the illustration. I'm not optimistic that we can make a case for our own use, but alternatively I have not yet concluded that we cannot.

Your articles about the history of the "Rock House" has nothing to do with the history of King, North Carolina. The Rock House is in another town, no where near King, North Carolina. I live in King, North Carolina and I'm a member of the Stokes County Historical Society, which owns "The Rock House." "The Rock House" and its history has nothing to do with the history of King, North Carolina and should not be filed under the History section on the King, NC Wikipedia page. "The Rock House" is physically located on Col. Martin Road in Pinnacle, North Carolina, nearly 17 miles away from King, North Carolina. Click here to see a Google map showing "The Rock House" is not in King, North Carolina and should not be included on its Wikipedia page. My suggestion is "The Rock House" needs its own Wikipedia page.

Apology accepted. Nevertheless, details of meeting time do not belong in the introduction. Bureaucratic details of the alumni association do not belong in the introduction. The membership of Bush and Kerry don't belong there, either, but that they show the significance of the organization. The opening introduction should be a plain statement, a definition, of the organization. All elaboration does not belong.

R1b sourcing
Hi, concerning the sourcing on R1b, I see you removed a source I tagged, but you should keep in mind that if you do that then this implies that we probably should either remove what is being sourced as well (which may be considered undue in some cases that are perhaps correct but just needing a better source) or we should otherwise put in a new tag such as [citation needed]?--Andrew Lancaster (talk) 11:09, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- No problem either way, just a suggestion. Either way there are more batches of sourcing on that article that need tough love. My main concern was that if some of us start work start work on that, eventually someone will object, so I guess we should remember to try to keep actions transparent in their intention so they can be discussed later. (For example in this case you only deleted one of several self-published sources; I could imagine someone argue that you were taking advantage of the tags to get something you wanted. I am certainly not saying that myself.) I guess the ideal but most time consuming approach is to go through each poorly sourced bit, try to find a better source, leave comments on the talk page, and then take actions (deletion, re-wording, re-sourcing). Yes I think I read about that SNP on forums also. As far as Wikipedia is concerned we should not normally cite forum discussions, and I don't think we can cite Thomas Krahn's "draft tree" nor Squecco's very useful collective spreadsheet, so I guess we may have to wait until someone gets something published. A thought re: images for PTSD - Given that [a] images of classical art (as opposed to more recent art) are possibly more likely to be in the public domain, and [b] the majority (by 2 to 1 margin) of PTSD victims are women, and [c] that the most frequent trauma for this subpopulation is sexual assault, might it not then be reasonable to search for classical painting of the famous "Leda and the Swan" image or myth or whatever it is (I've seen many of these), and use this for the article? They all depict the rape of Leda by Zeus, in the form of a swan. You're doubtlessly familiar with the notion. A comment below the image might make clear why it's being used as the lead image for this article.

Adding Masons to the list
Marmaduke... Thank you for contributing to the List of Freemasons article. Our thinking on when and how to add people to the List is simple...
- Criteria for inclusion: a) The person must be notable enough to have their own stand alone article (no red-links please). b) We must cite a reliable source for their membership in the fraternity, and do so when we add them to the list (if you have questions as to whether a particular source qualifies as reliable, just ask on the list's talk page).
- What to add: a) The person's name (linked to their bio article), b) A very short (as few words as possible) identifying description, more for disambiguation than anything else (presumably the bio article will discuss why they are notable... we add the description just to make it quickly clear to readers who we are talking about). c) Lodge info if known ("mother lodge" is preferred... but other lodges are fine.) Just follow how other entries are done and you should get the idea.
Don't be put out if someone removes or changes something you added... it isn't personal. There are many rumors and conspiracy theories about Freemasonry, and these often involve all sorts of wild claims about who is/was a member. There is also a lot of well meaning but erroneous information. We err on the side of caution with this list. If there is any question as to whether someone should be on the list or not, we opt for "not", and remove them until the question is resolved (this is especially true for living people per WP:BLP). When this happens, we usually explain why we removed someone in the edit summary, but occasionally we forget or neglect to do so... so, if you add someone and discover that the entry is subsequently removed without a clear edit summary, just ask for clarification on the talk page. In reference to your undoing a revision regarding "Johnny Fairplay" being from Danville as not having an entry on Wikipedia and not being significant, there is a page on him, and he is from Danville, despite what some people here feel about that. I'm going to add it back and add a link to the page on Wikipedia. As a request, before saying something is not notable because there isn't a Wikipedia entry, please make certain that it doesn't actually have an entry.
