Paul C. Fleming[edit]

Howdy, I noticed your edits to List of Texas A&M University people and Texas A&M University. Your cited source does not list Paul C. Fleming as a Medal of Honor recipient. I did a quick search and found no such person either. I'm reverting your edits as a result. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 21:21, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think the issue is that that section of the Texas A&M article is referring to recipients of a military award known as the Medal of Honor. Fleming is said to have won a civilian award known as the Congressional Gold Medal. The front page of this website refers to Fleming having won the Filipino Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal, but I am not sure whether this is directly related to the CGM covered in the Wikipedia entry covered above. In any case, it doesn't appear to be the same as the Medal of Honor referred to in the Texas A&M article. EricEnfermero (Talk) 21:49, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It appears it was VERY recently awarded: http://www.filamsc.org/main.html "Congressional Gold Medal Presentation to Filipino Veteran of World War Two March 16, 2018 (Friday, 10:00 a.m.) Memorial Park (700 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC 29201, FAAGC is assisting the Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project (FilVetREP) in the presentation of the Congressional Gold Medal (CGM) to a Filipino-American Veteran of World War Two who lives in Aiken, SC. In accordance with U.S. Public Law 114-265, the Filipino Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal is awarded to Paul Fleming, US Army Forces in the Far East (USAFFE). The law was passed in 2015 to recognize "Filipino and Filipino-American WWII Soldiers across the United States and Philippines for their wartime service to the U.S. and the Philippines from July 1941 to December 1946."
