I saw your response, thank you. These articles are really useful, and it's hard sometimes to find sources. I'll have a look at see if I can find some. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 06:10, 22 May 2017 (UTC) I got some sources for the bottom one through typing the name into Google Books. You may find that easiest for these. The most obvious source for these places is the Ordnance Survey map. You may also also be able to find sources in the corresponding Welsh WP article.----Ehrenkater (talk) 16:14, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Powys articles[edit]

It's great that you're starting articles about communities and villages in Powys, like Mochdre, Powys and Abermule with Llandyssil. It seems that these articles are being started without any sources. Please see WP:Citing sources and WP:Citation templates, which can be a helpful tool.

I know working out the formatting can be tricky, but knowing where the content comes from is important to ensure that it means WP:Verifiability, using reliable, secondary sources. At the very least, you can put urls within <ref></ref> and someone can format them using reFill.

If there is any way that I can help with this, please let me know.–CaroleHenson (talk) 03:22, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to List of communities in Wales, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at List of communities in Wales. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:31, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at List of communities in Wales, you may be blocked from editing. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 11:10, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

FYI Mattcymru2 editors leave redlinks precisely to encourage other people to create articles. In the instance of List of communities in Wales there are a whole load of communities which still need their own article. It's unhelpful to remove redlinks or (in particular) to completely change the name of the community. Sionk (talk) 15:46, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at List of communities in Wales. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:45, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Let me explain. You could have discussed your proposed changes at Talk:List of communities in Wales; at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Wales; or at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject UK geography. Instead, you have failed to understand how the article is organised, and persistently pushed your point of view and left edit summaries like "ok sorry for getting angry but my edits are quite constructive there is no point in creating two articles for the same thing, it appears you know nothing about welsh geography therefore I DO so i win." and "you know screw wikipedia i would talk with you but wikipedia males it very dificult to actually have a converstaion with people. i will NEVER give one penny towards this stupid site i know you will ban me but yeah you all suck.". That sort of attitude will not get you anywhere on Wikipedia. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:06, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

my edit was not disruptive it was helpful? newtown and newtown and llanuwchaearn is the same thing? im extremely upset? why are you bullying me? do you even know what disruptive means?

In your defence, I can see you have started to add sources/citations (which is a good skill to have) and some of your edits are useful (for example you identified that Broad Haven wasn't a Pembrokeshire community). And I don't think myself that wikilinking Newtown and Llanuwchaearn to Newtown, Powys is disruptive. But changing names of communities (such as you did with Builth) is not helpful. Maybe you just need to slow down a tiny bit and learn the 'ways' and etiquette of Wikipedia before making mass edits. Sionk (talk) 22:54, 7 September 2018 (UTC) Thanks for the reply. um, Builth and Builth Wells is the same thing. Why make two articles for the same thing? its just... insane — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mattcymru2 (talkcontribs) [reply]
Builth probably doesn't require a separate article from Builth Wells as it appears to be an alternative name but it should still be "Builth" on the community list as that's the name of the community, not town. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:28, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, wow, somebody with some sense ! redrose64 doesnt have a clue about wales.. wikipedia is a great resource, but is moderated by some really clueless people. and if i get blocked for that, then so be it. ive had enough. if wikipedia ask me for money, they wont get a penny now im that infuriated. These people are acting like ive change the name to `banana` or soemthing. my knowledge of welsh geography is probably better than anyone else on the planet, and my knowledge is being insulted.

Your contributed article, Trelawnyd and Gwaenysgor[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Trelawnyd and Gwaenysgor. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Trelawnyd. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Trelawnyd. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Valenciano (talk) 20:50, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It is part of the community of Trelawnyd and Gwaenysgor.

Your contributed article, Penrice (Community)[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Penrice (Community). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Penrice (community). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Penrice (community).

Lopifalko (talk) 07:36, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Gower villages renames and redirects[edit]

Hi. I think you missed the fact I moved Penrice (Community) to Penrice (community), fixing the capitalisation. I did the same for Ilston (community). Also note that it appears you shoud be expanding the existing redirects for these subjects, e.g. Penrice, Swansea, rather than creating new articles. -Lopifalko (talk) 07:40, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Penmorfa, Gwynedd moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Penmorfa, Gwynedd, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:Penmorfa, Gwynedd[edit]

Hello, Mattcymru2. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Penmorfa".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Hi Mattcymru2. I have undone an edit of yours to Tirymynach as yours was, at best, misleading if not actually wrong. The Mynach does not flow through Tirymynach, as it joins the Rheidol at Pontarfynach, some miles away. If we need an explanation of the name (not a bad thing, i would think), we would do better to give its meaning ~ land of the monk ~ rather than an incorrect allusion. this is extremely unfair, i have been editing on here for a years now, noone has given me a clear reason why my edits are `disruptive` why suddenly do this? `address the issue directly?` what does this mean? its almost like people speak a diffrent langauage on here. and im not allowed to be annoyed?Mattcymru2 (talk) 21:39, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
