My edit to the article was relevant, I do not understand why I got a warning. MayoForSam2023 (talk) 13:41, 8 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Soetermans. I noticed that you recently removed content from Landlord harassment without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 06:53, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Ballina Stephenites GAA, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Izzy MoonyHi new friend! 10:45, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

       I have now cited a reliable source. MayoForSam2023 (talk) 19:59, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Wales at the FIFA World Cup shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. MayoForSam2023 (talk) 13:25, 13 January 2023 (UTC)Have you sent this message to the other two people reverting my edits?[reply]

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Shane Hawkins. Materialscientist (talk) 09:15, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

How did I vandalise it? I made a proper edit. MayoForSam2023 (talk) 17:29, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No, you did not.

Oliver Shane Hawkins is an American musician and son. He is the son of the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Would you describe any person by their familiar relationships? Winston Churchill was a son too.
MayoForSam2023, you're very close to being blocked. I've urged you to slow down and read the guidelines, have you done so? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 18:09, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just realised my mistake, I didn’t realise I said son twice. The first son shouldn’t be there. My bad, didn’t see it. MayoForSam2023 (talk) 18:13, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The entire World Cup includes the qualifiers and the finals tournament. The term "finals tournament" is used for clarity that the stage we're talking about is (what is now) the final 32. It's true that the term "World Cup" can be used as shorthand for the finals tournament on its own, but since this article is about Wales' involvement in the qualifying process as well, we need to maintain that clarity. For that reason, stop removing the word "finals" from the lead section. It's becoming disruptive. – PeeJay 02:14, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I understand but anyone reading the article could be confused when you say “finals” tournament and confuse it with the final of the actual tournament. Could we not just say entreated every World Cup qualifier? MayoForSam2023 (talk) 18:41, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How could anyone get "finals tournament" confused for "final of the tournament"? You'd have to be pretty thick not to understand that. – PeeJay 21:51, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don’t understand why you’re having such a problem with me trying to make the article simpler to understand. Even if you have to be “pretty thick” to not understand you have to assume that maybe a person who is “thick” or doesn’t know a lot about football is going to read it. MayoForSam2023 (talk) 23:50, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How are you making it easier to understand? The term "finals tournament" is clearer than just saying "the tournament", since the tournament also covers qualifying. – PeeJay 18:56, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please, slow down[edit]

Hi MayoForSam2023, I've noticed that several of your edits are not appropriate or lack Wikipedia's style and tone. Please take a moment and read the guidelines. I still believe you're trying to help, but it's not going well right now. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 06:59, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, sorry. MayoForSam2023 (talk) 18:39, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No need to apologise! I know you mean well. Wikipedia takes some time to get used to is all.
One of my first edits was creating an article about my high school group of friends, we were gonna make it big as a multimedia company (hint: we didn't). Of course it was deleted. And that was almost 17 years ago!
And this is great: properly sourced and everything. Keep it up. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 20:56, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

MayoForSam2023 (talk) 13:29, 13 January 2023 (UTC)Thanks for your help. As I’m sure you know I’m only new to Wikipedia and trying to grasp the concepts and rules of the website. Thanks again for the feedback.[reply]

Please stop adding unreferenced controversial biographical content to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did with this edit to Martin Ødegaard. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. Philipnelson99 (talk) 02:28, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

02:35, 14 January 2023 (UTC)~How is this controversial? Many pages of football players have this on their page, how does Ødegaard differ from them?

"Considered one of the best youngsters in the world, Ødegaard is known for his dribbling, vision and playmaking" is what is called POV pushing. Who considers Ødegaard to be one of the best youngsters in the world? There's no such statement in the article. You added the sentence to the lead, which is the summation of the article. If you want to add something to an article, do so in the article's body before adding it to the lead. Ødegaard is 24, calling him "a youngster" is an inappropriate WP:TONE. Have you checked the guidelines? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 10:30, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
