IP block exempt

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. T. Canens (talk) 08:14, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

Thank you. I guess my actual IP address changes periodically as assigned by my internet provider and the one I happened to get this time as a blocked one, or I have been the victim of a viral attack - when I opened my sandbox, there was text there, obscene in nature, that I'd not written. At any rate... Mayumashu (talk) 15:14, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
When you say "my sandbox", are you referring to WP:Sandbox, or a personal sandbox (which you don't appear to have)? WP:Sandbox can be edited by anyone except blocked users, at any time, and it often contains vandalism, profanity and/or other objectionable nonsense. Fortunately, it is automatically cleaned on a regular basis. —DoRD (talk) 15:38, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
the 'my sandbox' option at the top of the (any) WP page (when logged in to one's user account), between 'my talk' and 'my preferences'. When I opened that page (for my first time ever), it contained objectionable text, unsaved. I suppose that there was this text is coincidental to the IP address block. So too that when the block occurred, I was attempting to revert a vandalism by an anon user... I am able to make edits again, and since I'm not at all a particularly able computer person, I guess I shall move on from this rather as it it never happened. Ahhh, now I see. There are a couple of templates that are called up when you click that button, so I'm guessing that one of them had been vandalized. Anyway, happy editing! —DoRD (talk) 20:50, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
I unblocked the IP after the OPP check turned out negative, so I also removed the IPBE from this account since it is probably no longer needed. Let me know if you run into another of these blocks. T. Canens (talk) 22:29, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
