Becky + Zimbabwe

Do you have a source for this? We only know her father is British so I'd like to know where in god's name you found out he has Zimbabwean ancestry. And don't tell me that just because he was born in Zimbabawe while it was still under the British crown that makes him "Zimbabwean".—Ryulong (琉竜) 17:21, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Her father grew up in what is now Zimbabwe - I know this from hearing him and his daughter talk of this when interviewed on TV back in the early to mid-2000s - but I don't have a ready source, so by all means revert my edit if you wish to. (I see that you already have. I would agree that it is better to describe him as 'British' and not 'English', given he comes from Rhodesia/Zimbabwe.) Mayumashu (talk) 20:45, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Well, I don't think that makes her Zimbabwean or Rhodesian by any extension of her father's birthplace. Everything I'm seeing lists his nationality as "Igirisu" in Japanese.—Ryulong (琉竜) 05:34, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

The guy in the youtube video you've linked does pronounce it "fight" and he does have something of a Quebec accent, though it could be a put on. If it is pronounced "fight" in Quebec it wouldn't be that strange though because Quebec French vowels do sound different from European French vowels, even to an Anglophone like me. Another one I hear from watching a bit of French language TV is 'important' in Quebec pronounced "ɛ̃nportɛ̃ n" and not "ɛ̃ portɑ̃ n" (http://www.wordreference.com/fr/French-Pronunciation.aspx).
